I love the quality and look of Blondo boots! I have their black suede 1/2 calf height slouch boots and gray snakeskin booties, so this would be my 3rd pair of Blondos. Both are holding up great even with me wearing them daily in the winter. (I think the snakeskin booties are 4 years old and the black suede are 3 years old.) So I knew they were going to be uncomfortable. Blondo just doesn't put enough padding in the sole of the footbed. I usually wear a 7.5, so I intentionally bought an 8. I then purchased a pair of Dr. Scholls pads for the entire length of the inner boot. I had to cut the pads to fit (which is what you are supposed to do with that type of foot pad). And now my beautiful booties not only look great, but they are actually comfortable. (I had done the same thing with my black suede boots.) So yes, I do recommend them, but I also recommend sizing up and inserting a comfortable pad inside to wear them. So this is why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5.
I have a pair of Blondo boots from a few years ago that are very similar to these that I've worn out I loved them so much. This pair is narrow and has little arch support. The leather is very stiff, and even with the gussets around the ankle, the high ankle shaft is just super stiff and uncomfortable. I'm not sure if softer material would help, or if it's just too tall, but the shaft is so high that my ankle can't bend. Unfortunately, since they are so tight, narrow, and uncomfortable, they are going back. Sigh. I wish they worked for me -- they are so stylish! I love the look and not the fit.
