I bought these for a vacation to Lisbon, Portugal. We planned to walk extensively around the city and nearby attractions, and I had just been referred to physical therapy for knee and lower back pain. I was worried that the cobblestone streets and sidewalks of Lisbon would prove to be unbearable, due to my level of discomfort. At the same time, we were going to be on vacation and taking lots of pictures. I wanted some comfortable walking shoes, but they had to look good, too. These Clark's ankle boots were both. We probably walked a few miles every day if you added it all up, and at the end of the day my feet didn't hurt, and neither did my knees or back. We walked the cobblestone streets in Lisbon, went hiking along trails in a mountainous nature preserve, and walked the length of the boardwalk connecting the beaches of Lagos on the southern coast. I loved how cute the boots looked whether I was wearing linen pants or a summer dress with them.One feature I loved was the side zipper, especially when it came to passing through airport security. Easy on, easy off, but the laces allow you to fit the shoe to your foot for a more custom fit. I liked the amount of arch and ankle support and the cushioned soles made for very comfortable walking on hard, uneven surfaces.The only con I had with these boots probably had more to do with the amount of walking we did than the boots themselves. I don't like the feel of shoes without socks, so I wore no-show socks with them. In the morning the boots fit as expected, but by the end of the day my toes felt pinched and crowded - not enough to actually hurt, but enough to make me glad to take them off at the end of our day. Maybe my feet were a little swollen from the amount of walking, or the socks made them feel a bit tight, but I would probably order them a half-size bigger if I were to order them again for anything with extensive walking. For everyday, normal use, these are the perfect combination of comfort and good looks.
I work at Home Depot and these are my go to sneakers. The width of my feet are between medium and wide. 11 wide is what I ordered and I'm sad because I couldn't get every color. It seems they are out of stock. Clarks, please bring these sneaker boots back!
I am recovering from a broken ankle and I wanted a cool high top for warm weather and these are very ventilated and WOW the Clark's insole is SO COMFY! I love that they have zippers AND laces so I can adjust the ankle tightness. That said, be warned that the toe area is very small and so if you don't have a thin foot you might have to order a wide size or go one size up. Otherwise they are like bedroom slippers that offer you ankle support and can go with so many different outfits. I LOVE THEM!
Love this shoe. It is so comfy, cute, and trendy. I would recommend this. I have a lot of pain in my feet with standing and walking and these are perfect. Try them out
I've never had an issue having a wide shoe not fit great, these however do not feel like a wide, at all. They are nice looking and have a good cushion, but not a true wide. After wearing them for one day, I was limping when I got home from the shoe digging into the side of my foot.
I don’t understand why these shoes were discontinued, so I’m happy to find them on Amazon. They are perfect for my mom because they gave her the support around her ankles that she needs.
These are my favorite shoes by far. I have a dark green pair and a navy blue pair. I'm on my feet a lot at work and stand a lot and these are so incredibly comfortable. I saw them in a cute gray and ordered them immediately and it was a plus because they were on sale! But now I know maybe why they were marked down because I received them obviously used! The bottoms are all dirty-GROSS! I'm sorry but that is completely disgusting for 1. someone to return shoes that are well used and 2. for Amazon to send those dirty, used shoes back out to an unsuspecting other customer. I'm so sad because I super love these shoes but now I have to return these. If you can purchase & AND receive an unused, clean pair; you will absolutely love these! So five stars all around for the shoes themselves but one for sending me worn, dirty shoes.
Great look but shoe too small to step into even though ordered wide size. May need to order up half or full size.
