So comfortable!!! Nice heel. Dresses up jeans and still feels like you’re wearing tennis shoes! Love these boots! These are my new go to shoe in my closet!
My only reservation about these boots is that the material of the sole seems rather soft. Other than that, the boots fit well, are comfortable for longs walks (1 hour or more), and look nice. Chances are pretty good that when they wear out I'll get another pair.
These are really comfy. They don't have a lot of arch support so if that's what you are looking for you may want to add an insert or swap out the insole. But otherwise I'd say they are the makings of a very comfy shoe and I'd recommend them for those of us who are fed up with shoe pain. They are really cute too. I ordered the "Brown" and in the images on Amazon I thought they looked like an oiled leather, not true. They are a little darker than the picture, and it looks like a full grain, fairly shiny leather. They also seem to run large. I usually wear a 10-10.5 so I ordered the 10. They are big enough that I considered swapping for the 9.5, I bet they'd fit better. But since the rest of the shoe fits nicely I decided not to bother, I don't think extra toe room ever hurt anybody. While I love these shoes, I would not say they are feminine looking. If you are looking for an androgynous shoe this is it. And for such a great price!!
I read the reviews online at Amazon for these boots and thought I would try them considering the mix bag of reviews. But after owning them for the last month and this is my second pair of Eastland shoes - the first were men's hiking boots that lasted 5 years with daily wear!!! These boots are cheaply made unfortunately - and would wear out in no time if worn daily. And the heel is hollow, I can hear it 'echo' when I walk down concert steps. There is no arch support to speak of but they do look good and I can wear them all day- I work in an office and walk on my hour lunch break. I just have to remind myself not to scuff my heel when I walk so they last longer. The leather upper is thin leather and the balance is made in china and is cheap rubber. I stepped on a cigarette butt while walking yesterday and it melted to the underside of my boot. I had to lean against a wall to see what I was stepping on and pull the cig butt off the boot - UGH! with a small round 'melt' mark - how sad! They do look good and they were wide enough but not worth $84 dollars.
I LOVE this little boot! Extremely stylish, very well made, and the perfect scale for the clothing I choose to wear with them. I don't like to "K-alomp" around and make a bunch of noise when I enter a room. I have recently become a big advocate for "Standing Against the High Cost of Cheap Fashion"...so the sewing machine is out to begin "Up-Cycling" everything in my closet, and this boot is actually the inspiration it took for me to realize my vision is going to work out perfectly! When I need shoes again...this will be the 1st manufacturer I go to!A big thank you to Eastland!
I was a bit skeptical about these shoes at first; I've never found shoes more comfortable than Borns, and I needed something that would stand up to heavy walking. But Born didn't have any shoes with this look, so I took a chance and bought the Overdrives. While the insole is much firmer than the Born sole (which is like walking on pillows), it is nonetheless quite comfortable. I regularly walk about three miles to campus every day, loaded down with books and such, and these shoes make the trip amazing. No foot, knee, or hip pain, lots of support, and the upper doesn't rub or chafe at all. They are quite broken in from the moment you put them on, no need to suffer blisters or anything.I got the dark brown/raven color, and it looks amazing. I would highly recommend these. They are well-made, look great, and will serve you well.
I wear an 8.5 medium in Keen Presidio with a green Superfeet brand insole to help my moderate rheumatoid arthritis and mild plantar fasciitis - that's my favorite footwear combo. I would rate the Eastland Overland slightly less comfortable, but adequately comfortable. One thing that would help would be if the toe area was slightly wider and deeper. I cannot fit my foot, medium weight socks, and a green Superfeet insole in there, but I can fit my foot, socks, and a blue Superfeet insole (slightly thinner insole). Another nice thing would be if the heel was not quite as high. I think if I could shave off a quarter inch of the heel height only, they'd be perfect. They are adequately comfortable for teaching and dog walking on dirt trails, just not quite as amazingly comfortable as they could be. They look nice with jeans or chinos, casual or dressy. I plan on keeping them and maybe getting another pair.
UPDATE: I have had these shoes almost 4 months and I look down and notice they are ripped apart. Now I only wear these to work (I work in an office) so they are not abused in any way. These should last way longer than they did. I will not be purchasing these again.OMG these are the most comfortable shoes! They fit exactly as described and are extremely comfortable and cute! I am considering buying another pair just in case they decide to discontinue.
