ECCO, a Danish footwear brand founded in 1963 by Karl Toosbuy, began with a simple yet revolutionary idea: creating comfortable shoes that mimicked the barefoot walking experience. Toosbuy believed that shoes shouldn't restrict the natural movement of the foot, and ECCO's commitment to ergonomic design has been at the heart of the brand ever since.
ECCO prioritizes both comfort and style. They utilize innovative technologies and premium materials to create shoes that are anatomically shaped, lightweight, and flexible. ECCO also boasts a keen eye for design, offering a range of styles that are both functional and fashion-forward.
I am generally a 9.5B or 10 in boots and the 41 was too snug for my comfort level. The shearling lining might have matted down at some point making more room for my toes but didn’t want to take that chance and they didn’t have it in the largest size.
Comfort
These are fantastic shoes. They have all the Ecco comfort advantages but also a special sole that makes it perfect for a snowy winter. Fit snugly.
Getting ready for a sightseeing tour in Boston in March and was looking for something stylish, warm, but also comfortable to walk in all day. Clearly finding something that meets all criteria is nearly impossible. For context, I have wide, flat feet that pretty much hurt no matter what shoes I wear so whatever I can do to minimize that, the better. Definitely have some plantar fasciitis. I would say my normal size is 7 x-wide (based on some Propet shoes I bought that are the comfiest shoes I’ve worn in a long long time.) If you have wide feet at all, these are NOT for you. Very narrow and incredibly tight across the top of my foot, which usually doesn’t happen. The inside is very cozy and I can tell they would be warm and they are very well constructed. They’re also very lightweight. After an insane amount of research looking for the perfect boots, these kept coming up as suggested for flat feet. However they are very narrow and much smaller than I anticipated. The insoles are not removeable so if you’re looking for that, pass on these. Again if you had wide feet, do not buy. It’s a shame because they were almost everything I was looking for!
