I needed a pair of good boots that would keep my feet warm and dry in the high Sierras of California during winter. The boots are cute and very comfortable. However I did have to size down a full size as they run big. I normally wear an 8 and the 7 fit perfect with winter socks. They also have great traction. After hiking and playing in deep wet snow for a couple hours, my feet remained dry. They were excellent for this. However, after those couple hours my toes did start feeling a bit cold even with wool socks on. Overall though, I feel the boots worked great especially if you dont plan on walking in wet snow for hours.
This is an early review as I haven't had the opportunity to try these in the cold weather. We've had an unusually mild winter, so far. These boots look and feel great. I walked around in the house to try them, and they are comfortable and fit true to size. I always size up for heavier socks. They're a little on the bulky side, but I expected that. They are rated to be warm down to -40 degrees. You aren't going to get that kind of warmth with a lightweight boot, and I live in northeastern NY (think Canada) and warmth is more important that a little extra bulk. I'm giving these 5 stars based on the quality construction, comfort, and style. We are getting snow and colder weather today, so I will update if my toes get cold.
