I am a perfect size 8 and have never had to order shoes or boots in a larger size. I had to with these. I ordered the 8.5 and they fit great boot socks and sport socks. There is a little bit of sliding with thinner socks but not enough to matter for me.
I disliked the fit at the left ankle
This is a beautiful shoe, but the fit is off. There is far too much room in the heel, so I was stepping out of it as I walked. It was also too large lengthwise, so I would suggest sizing down at least a 1/2 size. I know this won’t solve the heel problem for me, so sadly had to return. If you have wide feet and plan to wear super thick winter socks with these boots, they *may* work. Also: Zappos, get your act together with the packaging. These shoes did not arrive in their original box.
