I am LOVING this bootie moccasin! I tried two different styles from Minnetonka- these and the back zip high top boots. The back zip boots I did not care for- it had a pretty thick black solid sole and felt (and sounded) as if I was clunking around in combat boots. I wanted a boot that was lighter weight, and with a sole that wasn't so thick. These are perfect- the sole is flexible and has the little knobbies on the bottom of it. It doesn't make a peep when I walk.I ordered both my normal size (7 1/2) and one half size smaller in order to compare. The ones in my size although they felt better, the suede didn't lay flat across the top by my toes. It's almost like it has to be pulled snug in order for it to lay right. The half size smaller allowed the suede to fit much better and no buckling across the top. They felt snug, but according to other reviewers they do stretch so that's why I went with the half size smaller. They're snug but not so much to be uncomfortable (and that's even with thick athletic socks on).At the same time I ordered these I also ordered another pair of moccasins from another company. The suede and stitching on these was much higher quality and workmanship. If the zipper fails after some time I would just take them to the shoe repair shop down the road for a $5 fix. Easy and trust me, they're worth it.I ordered these in "taupe", which tells me someone at Minnetonka may need to have their eyes checked. They definitely are not taupe. Ladies, if you are looking for a taupe boot, this isn't it. The "taupe" are actually camel, and beautiful!
I got these in black. I read quite a few reviews about them regarding size and decided to get my true size of a 7. I'm glad I did. As with any real leather shoe they must be broken in. When I first put them on, they were tight. I was only able to wear them for a couple hours and felt them rubbing on my heel. I wore them for a few hours over the next few days and felt them shaping to my foot. Now they fit perfectly! They almost feel as though you are only wearing socks. They are narrow at the toe, so if you have wide feet, these may not be for you. I absolutely love my pair and plan on purchasing them in another color.
I really like the look of these mocs. They look like they would be too narrow, but my foot does fit comfortably with a lightly cushioned trail sock. So far I have only worn them inside the house, mostly because I wanted to keep them looking like new. They do not slip on my foot, and are secure going up and down steps. The stitching is well done, and they appear to be well made. They do have a tendency to make my feet sweat, but I'm waitng to see how they are in the cold weather, as I haven't had them but a couple of weeks. I thought they were reasonably priced, and they came very quickly. Very happy with this purchase.
Since these do not have laces that I could tighten, I had to size down a half size (that never happens for me in ANY shoe, this is the first). I didn't want to listen to the reviews about sizing down because I truthfully never have to size up or down for a shoe, I just don't buy the shoe if the fit is not an all around good feel. I know sizing up or down would create issues in other areas generally, but not for these. I liked that the 8.5 size snuggled my foot in better than my original size 9. The style is great and the opening is not too big - another concern of mine after reading some reviews. I really like the double fringe, it definitely makes the boot. I have very wide feet and didn't think these horribly narrow. I would expect that they not be too wide just given that they are mocs - plus, they will stretch, so I am not concerned at all. I wore them out in the rain and was thinking that since the sole is fairly thin my feet rolling over the edge may make the side of the shoes hit the ground and get wet, but they didn't. They ended up just right and I am confident that these will be a great comfort shoe for a while.
Expensive for the way they fit heel is cardboard and you heel moves around stiching is poor. Don’t bother buying can’t even get foot in it and I ordered a size bigger
I really do like these moccasins. They look sharp, and they feel soft. However, the sizing is somewhat deceptive.I wear a size 9 medium width, and other shoes in that size fit me just right, but these moccasins feel very loose. In fact, I used fabric glue to put in a make-shift felt lining on the sides and make them more comfortable. Even though the length is right, my feet were swimming in them because they are so wide. I could not comfortably walk because my feet were sliding around inside them. I think that a soft shoe like this should not be so wide. It is not adjustable. Also, since I have high arches, it is actually difficult to slip my feet into them because there is so little give between the top of the shoe and the back of it, so I was doubly surprised when they turned out to be so loose, once I get them on. The side zipper might be the problem. A zipper on the back of the shoe would give me more room to slip them onto my feet.Nevertheless, I am keeping them and wearing them every day. The soles are adequate, and they are bumpy for a good grip on the pavement or the dirt. Now that I have lined them with felt, they do feel very nice on my feet.I like the style.
