Propet was founded on the belief that everyone deserves comfortable shoes that fit well. They recognized that the standard one-width sizing system often left people with ill-fitting footwear.
Propet takes pride in offering a wide range of sizes and widths to ensure a perfect fit for every foot. Their in-house design team, with over 40 years of combined experience, creates stylish and comfortable shoes tailored to your needs.
Was concerned I wouldn't find another pair of comfortable, waterproof hiking boots after Propet discontinued the style I've been using for the past several years. It took trying and sending back three other styles that just were either not wide enough or hurt my feet just wearing them inside and one other pair that I wore outside and ended up donating. Finally the Pia was actually a true XX Wide fit. Hiked 2.5 miles with them on the first outing; feet stayed dry and there was no time needed to break them in, they have been comfortable from the first hike. I now have about 7-8 miles of hiking on them and have purchased a second pair to have when these wear out.True to size.
I have bunions and metatarsalgia and this shoe, though wide in the ankle and upper foot, squeezed my toes. Also does not have adequate arch support. Very comfortable otherwise. Nice shade of tan, not orangey. I don't recommend for those who have similar foot problems as myself.
These boots are well made but my toes are at the very end. I’ve worn this size forever and have never had to go up a size in any other shoe so it has to be this particular boot. Just order a half size higher. I’m going to return and reorder. I like everything else..
The boots run both too short and too narrow. I wear a size 10. I've never needed anything larger than that. My older shoes are size 10; it's a size I've worn for years with no problems. Because of this, I was surprised that the Propet Hiking boots that I ordered didn't fit me. My toes were bumping up against the toe-box, and my feet felt uncomfortably cramped at the sides.I checked the tag on the boot's tongue, just to double-check that my order was sent correctly. The boots that I was sent are indeed my size: size 10, just like I ordered. Yet, they don't fit. They look nice but I'm disappointed that I'll need to return them. I may try to size up and I'll edit my review if I do.*EDIT: I sized up to a 10.5 wide. They were both too long and too wide. This means that, since 10 is too small and 10.5 is too big, I can't wear these boots. I'm rating them poorly due to this strange sizing issue, because that was my experience. However, they look nice and seem sturdy, which is why I didn't rate them the lowest possible rating. If they do fit you, then they may be fine boots.Lastly, for those who care about where their shoes were made, the label on the tongue of the shoe says, "Made in China."
Most comfortable hiker i have ever owned. Wide width women’s shoe are hard to find. These are great.
First off, let's just say that this boot is in no way the quality of Propet's discontinued Ridge Walker hiking boot. As you may be able to see in the photo, the thickness of the sole is greatly diminished, it has less ankle support (less eyelets for lacing, shorter ankle shaft), and is just overall a lighter boot. I certainly wouldn't wear it in places I wore my Ridge Walkers. The Ridge Walkers in that photo are quite a few years old, and have A LOT of hard miles on them! All that aside, it's still an extremely comfortable boot for me to wear daily, at my work which requires me to be on concrete all day long, and will probably use them for light hiking. I do add a memory foam insole, as I have very narrow feet, and these do run WIDE!I have emailed the Propet company directly, begging them to bring back the Ridge Walker, but so far, they are unimpressed.
I have been looking for a hiking boot that fits my extra wide feet. These work for me.
I tried this in an 8 1/2, and an 8 1/2 wide. There really was not much difference at all between the two. The wide width was perhaps a little wider in the heel which I definitely did not need, but did not seem wider at all in the toebox, which is what I did need. aside from that, they seem like a pretty decent boot. The tongue is a little bit bulky and made it challenging to lease them up as tight as I would need. Unfortunately, these are going back 😕
