I usually wear size 8 in regular shoes and sandals and 8 1/2 Med in fashion boots so I decided to order the 8 1/2. I should've ordered the 8 and then it would've been true to size I think. The 8 1/2 is a tad too long and my heels are too loose. The toe box, however, was nice and roomy and comfortable. I tried using thick socks and Dr School inserts but it is still a bit too loose. I quickly ordered another pair in size 8 and hope it fits me just right. The shoes are very well made and stylish. Exactly what I wanted so that I could wear it with leggings and jeans and not just for hiking.
I love these! They're very sturdy but also comfortable. Most of my other shoes are a size 9 and these boots in a 9 fits almost perfectly, so I'd day they're pretty true to size. I've been wearing Doc Martens for years, but as I've been getting older I have a hard time wearing shoes that lack support. I switched to these and noticed that they fit a little more snug (which I like) and have much better ankle support. One thing I'd say I'd that they're a little lacking on arch support. I have relatively flat feet, so it's not a HUGE issue for me, but someone with high arches might want to swap the insoles out. I like the cushion on insoles that come with the boots, but I still might try to find a stick in arch support just to help my feet out.
I absolutely love these Timberlands. They are not too narrow, I have a normal, average female foot. I usually wear a 9 1/2, but usually get a 10 medium in boots and these fit perfectly...however, initially, the right boot felt like there was an annoying bump on the very right bottom of the insert. I didn't like the feeling and would have returned them. I immediately removed the Timberland foot bed inserts and put my own in. They felt fine, not more bump on the bottom right side under my foot. They are slightly heavy, but only if you usually wear light weight sneakers. The metallic port color is gorgeous! I am wearing these for work and will update on the nature of walking on wet, slippery floors. As an update, I wound up returning them and kept them in a 9 1/2--they fit perfectly, but they are heavy and they are waterproof.
I couldn’t have chose a better pair of boots. I was looking for combat boots for a festival but couldn’t find any that were cute, good quality, and comfortable. I love how these have a matte finish to them, they look so sharp. I chose these over Dr. Martens and I couldn’t be happier! These feel broken in already and are incredibly comfortable. I am a 9.5 or 10 in women’s shoes and bought the 10. Plenty of room for thick socks if needed.
Shoes fit as expected, which is slightly snug at first, until worn in a little, as any other shoe does. For an individual with average arches, these shoes would have a good decent arch support; however, I have pretty high arches and utilize custom orthotics in my shoes, so the arch support alone is not so good for me, but I would think that would be exception and not the norm. I've tested the waterproof theory and have worn them multiple times in the rain with no wet socks to speak of. As long as one takes care of the shoes with nubuck cleaner/conditioner, I'd expect these shoes to last for years to come.
I waited about a year to buy these boots. I kept going back and forth wondering if they were worth the money. One day I checked on them again and they had dropped in price from $160 to $105 so I pulled the trigger. Knowing what I know now about these boots, I would have purchased them at $160.The color is wonderful. In the picture, they look a more gray/silver than they do in real life. The color description says off white, but I would call the color more of a nude or a very very light tan. I love the metallic aspect.I live in Minnesota where we have a lot of snow, salt, slush and other crap in the Winter and these boots have withstood it all. At first I didn't want to wear them outside since I spent so much money on them...but they have a waterproof guarantee which so far has held true. It's a big plus that I didn't have to waterproof/spray these boots like I do to all of my other shoes. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because they were very snug width-wise...and have yet to be broken in completely. However, they are not snug to the point that they cause discomfort, so breaking them in has been manageable. I've worn these shoes for a whole day without being in pain.
I ordered a 5.5 wide, my normal size in all boots. First impression was good but as soon as I tried to put it on everything went down hill. The entry point is so low to the foot bed that it was almost impossible to get my foot in. Succeeded after a lot of struggle and immediately realized they were not wide they honestly looked and fit like a narrow upon closer examination (not even a normal width let alone a wide), my arch was forced flat, there was no cushion or support and the toe box strangled my toes. I wore thin boot socks too not anything bulky because I like to try on with thin socks first to gauge fit. Awful, immediately returned
It took a few returns to get a pair that were right but now that I have them, I love them. I have worn them daily and they don't show wear at all. They are warm enough for me in NYS winter..just going in and out of the car. I wear a wool boot sock. I have some foot problems and need sturdy boots. These are solid and offer a good support. The lug sole is even great in slushy weather. No leaks, no complaints. Love these boots.
