Dr. Martens, also known as Doc Martens, Docs, or DMs, has stomped its way into history since 1901. Originally created by Dr. Klaus Maertens, a German soldier who designed a comfortable air-cushioned boot to aid his recovery from a broken foot, the footwear quickly gained popularity. In 1960, the brand we know today was born with the iconic 1460 boot, adopted by British working-class youth and later embraced by various subcultures for its durability and rebellious spirit.
Dr. Martens prioritizes both timeless design and rugged construction. Their shoes are instantly recognizable by their air-cushioned sole, yellow stitching, and utilitarian details. Made with high-quality leather, Dr. Martens boots and shoes are built to withstand years of wear and tear, making them a true investment piece.
The quality is very good. No doubt about Dr Martens… The reason I am giving 3 stars is the following: I have had to check the size guide more carefully, as it is not at par with the usual. I usually wear men’s size 9 US, and 43 EU. Hence I ordered as 9 US. To my utter shock, shoes are almost a size smaller. When I have gone back to the size guide, I have noticed the culprit: Men’s US 9 corresponds to EU 42!I absolutely recommend this factor in order not to be misled.I have had to gift the boots to a friend due to almost 50% the cost of return including shipping and handling as well as non-refundable customs fee.
I've been around for a very long time and I have never had a shoe that POPS! every time I take a step.Left shoe is fine. The right one is sooo annoying, pop, pop, pop, pop.
I followed the sizing chart and when arrived, they turned out to be smaller than expected. Tried to return so that I could purchase another pair that would fit me and they do not offer free pick up, expecting me to pay for the return, and since I’m outside the US, that’s cost me more than the actual boots, so I ended up stranded with boots that do not fit and Amazon does not offer me a solution.
I have worn this style and brand of shoes for 30 years. Always loved them. Well I bought this pair and for whatever reason they rubbed my heels so bad it’s been a month and they still haven’t healed. I wore tall thick socks and everything and it just didn’t help. If this is how dr martens are now then I want no part of them.
Just got these I’ve had docs before but the leather on these just doesn’t look or feel right, going to return
