Dr. Martens, also known as Doc Martens, Docs, or DMs, has stomped its way into history since 1901. Originally created by Dr. Klaus Maertens, a German soldier who designed a comfortable air-cushioned boot to aid his recovery from a broken foot, the footwear quickly gained popularity. In 1960, the brand we know today was born with the iconic 1460 boot, adopted by British working-class youth and later embraced by various subcultures for its durability and rebellious spirit.
Dr. Martens prioritizes both timeless design and rugged construction. Their shoes are instantly recognizable by their air-cushioned sole, yellow stitching, and utilitarian details. Made with high-quality leather, Dr. Martens boots and shoes are built to withstand years of wear and tear, making them a true investment piece.
These are a bit big for my feet. I typically wear somewhere between a women's size 7.5 and 8.5 depending on brand. These women's size 8 Docs are quite wide and a bit too long. I like how roomy they feel though. The shoes seem very well made and are easy to put on. I really like the way they look. After about a week, I broke them in well enough that I can wear them with no fear of blisters (as long as my socks are thick).
I have wanted these for so long and they look and fit great! Very comfortable right out of the box and easy to slip on. Excellent construction and true to color as expected from Dr. Martin.
I bought these after a lot of thought because I wanted a Chelsea boot. I always am reluctant to buy boots online because I have a super high instep which makes it difficult to do a pull on boot, but these fit me perfectly! I wear them with my jeans rolled up, and they are exactly what I wanted and what I envisioned! They really bring me back to my 90s youth when I would wear docs. But these are much more updated for the times. They were instantly comfortable and took no breaking in, and the leather is matte so it's not shiny which I love.
These do everything I want them to and they are so comfy! They were a little tight at first around the ankle but they have broken in nicely. I was surprised with how roomy the toe box is, but then I realized I had bought the unisex ones and not women’s, so that’s on me. Because of this they make my feet look huge, but with how comfy they are I really don’t mind. I use these to wear around college campus in Oregon, so lots of walking in rain, and my feet are always warm and dry. I would recommend a nice thick sock with them though.
First off, I was so worried abt the sizing knowing that doc marts run big and this is my first pair from them. I’m a size 5 usually wearing 5.5 for closed shoes like sneakers or boots(for more toe space inside), open shoes(like sandals and flip flops and slip one) I wear my regular 5 since my toes r already exposed to the outside. This fits perfectly well for my size, my measurements are abt 8.25 inches which is basically size 5, this is a unisex shoe so a 5 would automatically mean larger for me(obviously wear women’s size). But this isn’t the case, THIS FITS SO WELL. IT FITS!!!! Like there’s no uncomfortable tightness or feels loose or too big, it literally just fits right for me. Enough toe space inside too and not even concerned abt the size anymore, this is literally perfect!!! 😭 You don’t exactly need to break in these boots, the soles are thick and hard, it actually makes me feel more free moving that way since it’s rigid and it does feel like bouncing every step you take. It just guides you instead of moving with your feet. One thing I don’t like is how tight or closed the opening it when you’re wearing it for a while, also getting it on barefoot was just a nightmare, must wear socks so it just slips on easily instead :) these thigh highs go so well with these boots 😍Overall, I would rate this a 8.9/10. It’s great, it lasts, good sizing, it’s comfy, it looks good, I love it and very little complaint :)
Super cute and comfortable and easy to walk in. Very versatile and great price. Only negative is personally when I’m driving with them it irritates my shin and makes it sore, but I think that will stretch with time. Would recommend.
Firstly, my boots came in 3 days earlier than expected and that was nice.Second, as someone who’s been working in the restaurant industry for a decade, these boots are legit. I ordered a size 8 (usually I’m an 8.5) but these fit nice without suffocating my feet. They are not automatically non-slip, however a few stomps around a concrete lot to scratch the bottoms solved that issue right away. The leather is nice, I can spray away grease and flour easily. They are sturdy and good quality, which was a concern because I got them ridiculously cheap (yay sales!)However they are not comfortable for all day wear. I would highly suggest getting insoles and wearing boot socks to avoid after-shift feet pain and blisters.Overall, very happy with my purchase, and can tell these shoes will last me a long time!
I ordered these to wear on my trip to Portugal. I usually wear a women's 8-8.5 so I ordered these in an 8. They came in the original box, with the Doc Marten tissue paper inside that I'm used to seeing from buying shoes at an actual DM store. The opening at first is a bit tight to slide your foot through but it does give a bit with each wear. The toe box was quite spacious and I'm not sure if that's because it is a unisex boot. I felt like if they offered half sizes a 7.5 would fit better, but a 7 would be too small. After going up and down the hills in Porto and averaging 7+ miles a day for 6 days in these my feet were fine. I did develop a hot spot on one of my heels but that was from another pair of shoes I wore out for my hiking day trip. Even with that hot spot, a little bandaid and my new boots my feet were ready to walk another 7miles. It rained off and on throughout the trip and my feet stayed dry and I didn't feel like I would slip on the cobblestones at all.Would recommend buying these while they're on sale if you can.
