The 1460 was the first Dr. Martens boot — and this one is true to the original, but borrows style from the 14-eye 1914 Vonda, with embroidered roses cascading down the side of the boot.

Dr. Martens, also known as Doc Martens, Docs, or DMs, has stomped its way into history since 1901. Originally created by Dr. Klaus Maertens, a German soldier who designed a comfortable air-cushioned boot to aid his recovery from a broken foot, the footwear quickly gained popularity. In 1960, the brand we know today was born with the iconic 1460 boot, adopted by British working-class youth and later embraced by various subcultures for its durability and rebellious spirit.
Dr. Martens prioritizes both timeless design and rugged construction. Their shoes are instantly recognizable by their air-cushioned sole, yellow stitching, and utilitarian details. Made with high-quality leather, Dr. Martens boots and shoes are built to withstand years of wear and tear, making them a true investment piece.
Buy them, you won't regret it! They look exactly like their photo. Something these days, I can truly appreciate. They fit a little snugger then I would have liked. I suggest you go a half size up if you don't want to have to break them in. A little tight in the heel area but that is going away after wearing them a dozen times. Still, regardless of that slight issue they are flawless! I looked them over with a critical eye. Not one snag, or uneven stitch. The leather is of good quality and smells like leather so I know it's real. I read in one person's review that it wasn't real leather. I know leather, and yes, this is it. I almost didn't buy them because of that review. Glad I listened to all the other reviews that mentioned them being of leather. Surely there would have been a lot more people complaining if they weren't genuine. This is my favorite set of Dr. Martens and I'm in love with them! They are perfect shin kickers! They protect your feet and don't slip. Reasonably comfortable, but not as squishy and soft in the insides as I had hoped. Point is they appear perfect, so yeah, pretty happy. Worth the price tag as they look and feel like they will last forever.
Updating to 5 stars as the first pair I received had the wrong size boots in the box, but when I initiated an exchange the correct size was immediately sent out and received within 3 days. Fabulous customer service! Now for the boots. I've worn Docs 1460 style for years always leather and these soft leather boots are 100% the most comfortable I've ever had from Dr Martens straight out of the box. I'm normally a solid size 8.5 U.S. so I down sized to an 8 as I normally do, and there was absolutely no break in time necessary. I wore them for 10 hours the first day and never once felt I had to change them out to my back up boots. The embroidery is beautiful, the style is the classic bad ass and I love everything about them.If you're not familiar with Doc's1) They do run big so if you're a half size you should size down unless you're planning on wearing something like thick Sherpa insoles then you may have to size up. They'll be tight, but they're made to stretch and conform to your foot.2) These soft leather were comfortable for me, but if you're looking at the hard shiny leather (I've never had their vegan boots) they are notorious for being hard to break them in so you'll have to tough it out or if they are black you can probably use boot stretch but rest assured they will stretch, conform to your foot and be worth it.3) For people like me who fell in love with the quality and style of the 80's (or earlier) the English made styles are closer to the quality we knew back then, but they are way more expensive and the quality now is still better than it was in the late 80's/90's.I don't expect these to last forever if they were my every day all day work and play boots, but knowing that I think they'll last if rotated in and out and taken care of correctly. Remember that the shiny leather needs to be cleaned and polished, but the "uncoated" leather like this will need to be treated periodically.
I am so happy I ordered these. Excellent quality. Don't take more than a day to break in. Super comfy and SO BEAUTIFUL. I want 10 more pairs. They seem like they will last long though. Got the protector spray too. They fit my typical size 9s perfectly.
Purchased for my 13yo daughter. Her first pair of Dr Martens. Fit good and well constructed. As I had expected. Hopefully with the right amount of care she will have for years to come.
Very good looking boots! I was so impressed by them, that I ordered another pair as soon as I saw them. The embroidery is very well made, and the quality is out of this world. My wife is so happy. And you know... Happy wife, happy life.
I wore Docs when I was a teenager & I think it’s so funny & great that they are back “in style “. These are adorable & so comfortable. I normally wear a size 9 1/2 Women’s so I sized up to a 10 instead of being in a 9. Leather tends to stretch out but I wanted to be comfortable, they are only a little bit big but not too big.I debated whether to get these with the red flowers or black flowers but I’m glad I got the red because I don’t feel like you would be able to see see the black as well.
These are so cute, but I was so disappointed when I had pain across my instep immediately with my first pair. I ordered the next size up than what was recommended so we’ll see. If they’re too big, I’ll have to give up on them. No half sizes.
Boots came quickly and in perfect condition. They fit well and are fun to wear.
