The rubbing of the upper part of the boot, is chafing
I love this boot. Well made, not too clunky looking but I needed to size up and not available. I'm a 10.5-11 normally and the 10-10.5 size was too tight. I feared the next size up would be too large, which was what I experienced with another ECCO style.
