Zipper is a bit of a problem. Shoe does run small. I normally wear 8.5 to 9 but my husband got me. 9.5 and it actually fits. So my regular size would not have worked in this shoe.
Super cute but didn’t fit well. I ordered a both a 7 and 7.5 to see which felt better. The 7 was way too tight and the 7.5 was too large. I have a wide foot so that could be why...
I have these in the cognac also and love these just as much. These do not disappoint if you love Frye boots! Some pics look bad in the reviews like damaged for sure, but as far as the discoloration goes, that’s the style of these. It’s not mold. You can find solid black or distressed black on the Frye website. The zipper is just for looks also. They aren’t supposed to zip. Hope this helps others in the future.
I bought a Frye Purse and wallet with this and wanted the boots to match. The design makes it almost impossible to get on, and after trying for 10 min and finally getting the first one on, I decided no matter how cute they were, the effort to take on and off was not worth it. I didn't even put on the second one. I will be returning these.
I saw someone wearing this and liked the design of the "open zipper", so I was glad it was available in my size. I took a chance of ordering it, after reading the other reviews because I own several pairs of Frye boots (all in the same size, all comfortable, and all good quality). It isn't too difficult to put on (for me) as other reviews noted but the toe space is unusually narrow (the reason for only 4 stars and why it will be returned).
Like these boots though I wish they were more narrow around the ankle. Look best with jeans but not as great with leggings.
