I’m using these boots when mucking out horse stalls. So far they are performing perfectly in rain and shine. Though sold in whole sizes, they come with inserts for half sizing. I use the inserts as I wear a 9.5. I have a history of plantair fasciitis. There is arch support and I’m having no issues so far. My ankles and calves are average. I have no problem putting my jean legs inside the boots. I would guess they are not 100% waterproof up the full length of the shaft, as the back of the leg shaft appears to be a neoprene - type fabric, but the entire foot and front of shaft are waterproof.
UPDATE: I took these moose hunting in rural Alaska and the very first day, I was wading though the shallow part of the river, I got water in both sides. I couldn’t even figure out where they were coming from; there were no holes. I assumed the seams were faulty. Thankfully Amazon have me a FULL REFUND.These are quality boots that I will have for years! If you’re worried about the price, these boots will pay for themselves. I love my new investment! I love the design, the length, the thick neoprene and most especially the added touch of the kick in the back. It will keep my boot in the long run. I’ve owned a pair of Xtra tuffs and these surpass them. I’ve yet to try them out in the field yet, but I have a feeling they will do what they’re meant to do. I’m taking these moose hunting in rural Alaska and I am confident I will stay warm and dry.
