They are wide.
These are indeed wide Keen shoes. Maybe a little too wide. You could definitely wear a thick sock with no problem. Loose and comfy. I ordered in 9.5 AND 10 because it was suggested to order down a half size. It didn't work. The 9.5 boots didn't fit in the ankle. Somehow something was odd about the cut. They're going back.I ordered two size 10s. One pair is noticeably bigger. Even my husband could see this. (Trust me. It would have to be a noticeable difference for him to acknowledge it.) I'm going to keep the more accurate size 10 because they are a cute boot that fits like a slipper, but a slipper with a really good sole.Keen has gone waaaay downhill over the last several years. They used to provide a strong, leather insole. Now you get the same garbage insole you can get anywhere. It has to be replaced to get any support. I might order a thicker insole. If I'd paid the full price for them they probably would be going back, but I got them for $88.
Good arch support. Not a great fit for narrow feet.
I love Keen shoes, and thought I would try this boot. I should have followed other people’s advice and order a size down. Even a size down was slightly big/wide, but I wanted room for thicker socks so I’m glad stuck with the second pair and didn’t go even smaller. It’s a comfortable boot, and that’s coming from a Birkenstock gal. I’m happy with my purchase.
Loved this shoe and it was just what I was looking for. Sad that it didn't fit. I have a pair of KEEN work boots in the same size, so I thought they would fit, but unfortunately these were too big. Had to return.
I am a true size 9. I ordered these in an 8.5 based on the other reviews. From heel to tip of my big toe, they fit me properly. So I would say they run a TAD big length wise. As far as width, they’re funny. I like how wide they are by the toes (even though I have a slim foot.) but the width around the ankle is too wide. Like way too wide. If it wasn’t for the opening being so large, I would think these were a flawless shoe. Probably why they are selling so cheaply. Still worth the $45 I paid!
I have another pair of Keen’s shoes that I wear constantly even with socks. I purchased these boots and absolutely LOVE them! They are stylist and meet Keen’s comfortably standard 100%.
Gorgeous soft leather, amazing squishy footbed, nice “zero drop” sole, but not super well tailored. These shoes don’t hug the foot- they are a little sloppy. Yet they are so soft it doesn’t feel like the heel slip will rub. I’ve been wearing them around the house trying to decide if I should keep them. It’s hard to find barefoot style shoes that have good padding for walking around on pavement when traveling and aren’t runners, so I’m still considering keeping them. These feel like a slipper with an outdoor sole, which is great- if only they didn’t slip at the heel. I know it’s annoying to read reviews when the person hasn’t really put the item to the test, but I thought this might still be useful.Keen made them with an elastic gusset, but didn’t shape the boot so that it needs to stretch. They could have made the leather more fitted and less boxy at the front on the ankle, and then they would be perfect. They almost nailed it with these.
