This was only used by my 5 year old twice and the adjustable tie got broken easily.
My son loves these boots. He wears them everyday and they keep him warm during the winter in New England. He says they are very comfortable. They are easy for him to get on and off, and the strap is easy to tighten. We love that they do not have laces, but rather the adjustable strap. He is able to wear thick wool socks with these boots. Grip on the bottom is good. He has worn them in the rain and his feet stayed dry. We have not been able to test them in snow yet, but I anticipate they will keep his feet warm and dry. Highly recommend!

I bought my daughter a pair of the Merrell Snow Quest 3.0 in purple and black in big kids size 3, and not only was she extremely happy about how cute they are she said, “Dad these are the cutest, most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn, thank you daddy.”Well I wanted to thank you Amazon, it was nearly impossible to find a size that fit her at any retailer or their website, and we were already nervous about switching brands from Keen to Merrell after some very poor customer service services from Keen. Not only did you have her size, but at the best price and it was delivered in two days time, making for one happy little girl.After having put the boots to the test in our frigid Maine weather, I asked my daughter if her toes were getting cold? “Nope dad, nice and toasty, let’s stay out for a while longer.”So overall a great boot, the only negative point was that I ordered them half a size large for insulated socks to fit comfortably. There was no need as the boots run a bit large, so I would recommend ordering your children their normal shoe size.
