I have wide feet or at least one because of a bunion on my right foot. This makes shoes a bit of a challenge. Mostly I just wear sneakers, boots, sandals and flats. I mostly quit heels but discovered Clark’s makes a good wedge. I purchased a couple wedge sandals and an open Mary Jane style heel last yet but decided I wanted something close-toed this year because of the seasons between flat and sandal weather and boot weather. I ordered this and a similar one in red. I wore this for the first time last night and it felt great. I could feel the bunion but it wasn’t bad, and the height of the heel made me feel and walk with a touch more confidence and made sense with my bootleg pants. I decided to wear this again today during my trip to the city, and decided I like it even more. I do think the fit is true to size but the wide is not that wide. However it is wide enough. I don’t think the shoe has started stretching but I think that’s fine.
Let me start by saying these shoes are super cute! I’ve received many complements. I purchased the black suede and they look great with dresses and pants. The heel is just high enough without knocking me off balance (I’m in my 60’s and have had both knees replaced). They are very comfortable too. The down side is the sizing. My feet measure 7.5 W. Other Clark’s I’ve ordered tended to run large, so I ordered these in a 7W. They were too long and too narrow. I reordered in a 6.5 WW and they fit fine in the width but are still a slight bit too long. I know a 6 will be too small and I love the shoe, so I kept the black suede 6.5 and am happy I did. I ordered the same shoe in brown suede, also in 6.5 WW and they were too big. I had to return them and decided not to pursue a smaller size. As a plus, though, delivery was fast and the return was hassle free!
The shoes look great. The suede is high quality and the ruffle on the front is a very cute detail. The only reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is that the shoes definitely are a little small. At first I thought it was just stiffness of new shoes. But even after wearing and stretching them for a few days, they remain tight in the toe and at the heel- just a little more than is perfectly comfortable. Because of this I can only wear them with the very thinnest weight socks. If I hadn’t needed them immediately to wear on a trip, I would probably have returned them and gone up half a size. Other than that, they are a great choice with jeans or skirts or any casual office wear.
Shoe was lovely, comfortable and just larger than expected. When i went to exchange/return, it wasnt an option. Would have ordered two colors had my size been available.
LOVED this shoe…stylish and comfy. But it runs a half to a full size larger. I wear a 9 1/2 and I was walking out of the shoe in this size.
cute shoes but these are NOT wide width. I even bought a shoe stretcher to try and stretch them and they are still tight in the toe area. I will not be able to wear them. I have bought other wide width shoes from Clarks that fit great with no stretching but these did not work at all. I should have returned but I've been stretching trying to make them work. They don't
I read other reviews prior ordering and I choose a smaller shoe size. Depending on the shoe brand I am a 6 1/2 - 7. I ordered a 6 a they fit well. So far they are comfy. They do feel a little snug in the front so I wouldn't recommend it if you have a wide foot. I am happy I finally found comfortable and presentable shoes for work.
I am glad I went against some of the reviews. The shoes fit perfectly. The color goes well with brown pants! They hug your feet. I wear them with light socks.
