Clarks, a name synonymous with comfort and quality, began in 1825 with two brothers, Cyrus and James Clark. Their story started with a simple idea: crafting slippers from sheepskin offcuts. This dedication to resourcefulness and innovation has been at the heart of Clarks for nearly 200 years.
Clarks prioritizes both comfort and timeless design. They are pioneers in foot-shaped technology, ensuring a perfect fit and all-day support. Their classic styles have transcended generations, while their commitment to innovation keeps them at the forefront of modern footwear trends.
I love these shoes and wear them 3-4 days a week. The design is classic and simple. Shoes fit comfortably and have a nice heel height. The sole is fairly quiet when walking on a hard surface. Leather has worn very well and stitching is sturdy. Great value for the wear I have gotten out of them. When it comes time to replace, I will buy the same brand and style! I love them!
These shoes are well made (in Vietnam), especially for the reasonable price. They are classy and comfortable to wear for business casual or a bit more formal with pants. The heel height is good. I ordered black leather a while ago, and just ordered the navy leather. I got Size 9 W and they work for me.
I probably should have sent these back and gotten a half size up, but I'm hoping the leather will loosen over time! They're definitely a little small, and quite narrow about the toe box, so if you have wide feet at the toe like I do, watch out! A shoe stretcher or stretching spray may help.I also found that the top of the heel digs into my left Achilles tendon and left a little blister, but I would guess that has to do with the prominence of my tendon more than anything else. Just know that if that's a common problem for you, you'll likely have it with these. If the shoe was a little lower-cut at the heel I wouldn't have this issue. They're very stylish, classic and understated with a flattering cut. A perfect low-key work shoe, and the footbed is very, very comfortable, so if you don't have rubbing or pinching issues, they'll be comfy for a lot of walking!
At first, these shoes were super tight, and I wondered if I had ordered the correct width. After wearing them to work for 10 working days (10 hour days), they were completely formed to my feet. Now they are the very comfortable to wear. While at work, I do a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. For walking, I go approximately 2.5 miles each day. Therefore, it is essential to have professional shoes that have great arch support and are comfortable to walk in. These shoes do it!The only complaint I have is that they don’t last as long as my booties. There’s scuffs on the outside of the toe boxes, and the heels are worn down (showing the interior material of the heel).
I'm still "breaking" the shoes in to see if I will order another pair. I'm very pleased with the look! If they fit well and comfortable, I will definitely order a second pair in a different color. I have received many compliments and have shared with my friends that I ordered on line...I never order shoes on line.
Fabric: I knew it was a "vinyl like" shoe so no fault to the manufacturer here. This is my first pair of synthetic shoes made of this material and it is not as comfortable as Nubuck or similar. I simply wasn't prepared for how hot these vinyl shoes were going to make my feet feel. Absolutely hot.Fit: The toe box is nice and wide without any toe crunching. The height of the back of the shoe is a little high and it hits my achilles tendon directly. The sole is also very thin...so thin that there really isn't much support for your feet. It is also thin enough that you may feel every pebble or even the heat/cold being transmitted from whatever surface you are walking on.I kept this shoe because it was a fun print, an understated animal print and I don't walk that far at work.
I have diabetes and nerve damage as well as injuries that have left substantial damage to the tendons due to a crushing fall. These breath, have plenty of room for daily swelling and are out of the box comfortable. Ordering again after Christmas and some trial wearing. I seldom leave the house so they are perfect for house shoes since leather breathes. I hoped they had leather lining but they are cloth lined. I intend to make my own liner from deer hide to help wick and to make them comfortable bare footed wearing. I will edit this in a few months to tell you how they hold up.
I’ve been ordering Clarks shoes for the past eight years for use at work. One thing I loved about this brand was the consistency in fit and quality of materials. Not this time. I ordered my usual size which is a 6.5. As soon as I opened the box I knew these were way too small. I double and triple checked the label and sizes printed on the shoe thinking they had been packaged wrong. Everything was clearly marked as 6.5 but the shoe looked like a size 5 instead. Of course they didn’t fit my feet. I couldn’t even get my feet fully into the shoe. I was having a Cinderella’s step-sister moment, for sure. I returned these shoes to up my size to a 7 wide, hoping that going up a half size and expanding from a regular to a wide will work. It’s really disappointing to pay good money for an item only to get dooped. I needed these for work and now I’m in a bind and have to wait for a new shipment. I guess it’s time to switch to a different brand so I know what I’m getting.
