These shoes are leather and pretty stiff at first, but it doesn't last long at all. I am a true size 8, and while I am able to wear these just fine (really, I am keeping them), I would recommend going up 1/2 size (not more IMO). They are very comfortable, but fit like a glove, and definitely will not work for wide feet. I wear them with naked feet and don't think they'd work even with no-show socks. When I first tried them on, I wasn't sure that I'd keep them. They were snug over the top of my normal width foot, and it felt like my toes were at the end, but doable. No blisters or discomfort though. After the second day wearing them, they're great. Somehow the footbed relaxes. Really comfortable footbed and padding, and much softer after only two days. I just wish that the leather was waterproof. I am already really enjoying wearing them and know that after the way they relaxed after only two days, I am confident that these will become a favorite go-to pair.Note: I ordered the "gray" color. I'd only give this color (or the pair I received) 2 stars. The color is not really in the gray family at all. It is very much a taupe (more of a tan/brown color) ... but different from the sole of the shoe, which is actually gray. Time and again I find myself a little disappointed in the color, especially since there is such a contrast between the leather and the sole. Update: While the product page color states "gray", once you add it to your cart the color/item description displays as "London Fog" ... which I would say is accurate. The color does look like the trademark London Fog taupe/tan color.Update: I purchased these in March. It is now October. I wear these shoes a lot! I reach for them constantly. They are so comfortable, and so very easy to slip on. I also find that they feel very secure on my feet, which is a great thing for certain activities. Although the leather is not waterproof, they dry quickly and don't have any stains or discoloration. I am considering purchasing another pair, but debating on another 8, or going up a half size to 8.5. I do still wish that the grey was really gray, and not tan/taupe.Upgraded my review from 4 to 5 stars. I really like these shoes. They are super comfortable and I can wear them all day with no foot pain whatsoever! They have never rubbed my foot, and never had any blisters, and they still look good. (I never wear socks) Just know going in that you should probably order a half size up. I did not order up. I am a true size 8, and these are totally fine on me (after several days of breaking in), although I'm sure an 8.5 would have been fine too. Love these shoes.
These run a little narrow. Hard to put on. I have the same shoe, in a different color, but they lace up and they’re much more comfortable. I’m hoping these will stretch out over time
I love how comfortable these shoes are. When they first arrived, I had a hard time getting my foot in with a thicker sock on because I have a higher arch. It just kind of squished the sock all up so it was bunched up on top of my foot. If you can get that picture I don’t know. But it was kind of pulled tight around my toes. So I use the trick that Nordstrom uses where you take a rag and dab rubbing alcohol on the inside of the shoe where it’s tight. And then wear it with as thick of a sock as you can get it on with. This seemed to help. I really like these shoes a lot. I love Keens in general for comfort. I’m still wearing thinner socks with them and I may do the rubbing alcohol trick again, so getting them on will be easier with thicker socks. They seem as though they were designed for someone with a flat foot. And the elastic they put on the sides seems too tight. But once I have them on their great. I love the wide foot bed in the cushiness of the sole.
Keen makes some great shoes, I've gone through 2 pairs of Presido walking shoes and wear one of their composite-toe work shoes at my job. They usually have a nice, wide toe box that fits my feet better than other brands, but sadly this pair is very, VERY narrow. I couldn't get my foot even halfway into it. Thankfully, I'm able to return them.Other than being unable to put them on, they look nice and the materials feel like quality.
I like these alot! I agree with many of the reviewers and think that you should definitely vote at least half a size up. Other than that, I don't agree with the the idea that the foot box is too narrow. I usually wear a 6 or 6.5 and got a 7 an they fit perfectly. I can't imagine wearing these with socks unless the socks are really thin. All around, they are perfect for what I bought them for. Love them!
I bought a size 8. That's my normal size, and the shoe fit just fine. No gaps, not too tight. Just fine. Wore it once around the block and I have blisters all over both my heels. There is something wrong in the designed fit of this shoe. It definitely looks cute, and I loved the look of it when I tried it on, but it is poorly designed or improperly sized. I see others have suggested purchasing a 1/2 size up. I don't particularly like buying shoes that are too big for me. I haven't decided if I want to try a 1/2 size up or not yet.
I ordered several pairs of this Keen style, Lorelai slip-on, even though I thought they were somewhat pricey. I had been trying many slipon shoes in different brands but nothing had fit so I decided to give them a try. I usually wear a size 7, but sometimes need a 7.5 depending on the shoe. I tried the Lorelai in a 7 and a 7.5. The 7 was too short and tight overall. The 7.5 was about 1/4 of an inch longer than my longest toe which is the one right next to my big toe. These shoes were also tight with a narrow fit, especially the toe box where the elastic is. The toe box was so narrow it hurt my feet. Overall the style runs small and narrow. I think these are made to wear without socks. I tried them on with a thin summer weight sock, but the shoes were much too tight for me. I wear a medium width and I have thin feet, but this style was too tight and narrow for my feet. For those of you who wear orthotics or need cushioning, the insole is cushioned and does seem to be removeable. It also seems to offer some cushioning. It is a casual shoe. As the style is too tight snd narrow I returned all the pairs.
I’ve tried other brands of shoe but I always go back to Keen for comfortable, nice looking every day ware. I’ve worn the maryjane in the past, decided to try these slip-ons. They did not disappoint. No breaking in, comfortable on first ware!!
