I wear a size 9. In shoes like Mephisto and Dansko, which have European sizes, I am a size 40. In this case, the listing only offers American sizes, so I selected a 9. I received a European size 39 which is too small. The European size is printed on the shoe and can be seen in the photos. I wish I could have ordered what I know to be my correct European size. These must go back.

I bought these as an alternative to Birkenstocks because I thought they'd be more comfortable. Absolutely wrong.. They are narrow, the leather strap on big toe rubs and causes a blister.. this is just totally unexpected from a brand that touts itself as ultra comfort. Won't be purchasing this brand again. Wore these twice for a short period of time- how else can you know if something will work?? Returning today!
I found the Mephisto Helen sandals to have a soft – air midsole which reduces the impact of walking on your feet and joints. However, I found the straps to be stiff, thin, and poor quality. I bought Platinium color and the color is sprayed on the stiff thin leather. They gave me a blister right away around my second toe. I'm not sure if they will age beautifully, either. Furthermore, I am hoping they will soften over time. Very disappointed.
So well made. I have several pair but these are very pretty - pink with bits of silver.
Shoes were defective and I returned them.
