Five Ten Freerider Canvas Mountain Bike Shoes Men's, Grey, Size 11.5

I’ve had people tell me you can wear these shoes all day long wherever you go. I suppose they would be fine if you like thin hard sole shoes, but I don’t. I don’t really care about that though, because these shoes are great for riding bikes! The tread pattern grips the pedals extremely well, and the soles are nice and stiff for maximum power transfer to the pedals. This is exactly what I hoped for so 5 stars! And the $55-ish price here on Amazon was way better than the over $100 price at REI. (Sorry REI guys, you were nice, but I didn’t want to pay double for the same shoes) I normally like to wear shoes with wide toe boxes (Altra), so these feel a little snug in the toe area, but it’s probably like normal shoes, and since I just wear them while biking, it’s not really a big deal. The size of these shoes seems true, I just ordered my regular size and they fit great. The only disappointment was that there was no strap or anything to tuck your laces into to prevent them from getting caught in your bike chain like some other bike shoes have, so I just tuck them under the laces that crisscross the shoe’s tongue.

Confortable, functional, and well constructed. And they look good. Well priced as well. A good purchase.

What I like is the style, fits me well. Comfort is top notch. I bought these shoes to wear for mountain biking & they work "as advertised" for that as well, super grippy soles that stick to pedals really well. I find myself wanting to wear these shoes for my daily kicks! Guess I'll just have to get another pair. For me, they are great for everything that I do. Like them A LOT!!

This shoe deserves the good reviews it receives. It's well constructed, comfortable, and appropriately stiff for flat peddles. Great traction and comfort for walking. Now have two pair.

Great fit, good look , good deal ..

Been riding in my sneakers for years but recently started going on longer rides where my feet would be hurting real bad after 5 miles. Picked these up and what a difference. I wear a size 10 sneaker and boot and they size 10s fit me perfect. Off the bike they're a little stiff and clunky walking around but not annoyingly so. On the bike there comfortable and feel absolutely planted on my pedals. Only have about 30 miles on them so for but the soles still look brand new. Durability seems great. Definitely worth the price.

Bought my first set, and they've been solid and well made. They're an all black. So I bought a grey colored set, why not. I do like them and they fit very well.

These arrived today, and since I bought them specifically for mountain biking, I took them out on a short ride immediately after trying them on. I survived and even enjoyed the ride. So far, so good.The shoes consists of a canvas upper and a thick, rubber outsole that's about an inch thick from heel to toe. The soles say "Stealth Rubber" on them. I'm not sure what that means, but it certainly sounds cool. They feel pretty grippy and the flat design throughout maximizes the secure, predictable underfoot feeling on any dry, flat surface.That being said, I would suggest that if you're doing much technical riding in wet, muddy conditions that you throw a pair of YakTrax in your pack you can slip over these in an emergency. These would probably be less than ideal in loose / wet muddy conditions. Even less so if your bike was unexpectedly out of commission and you had to carry/walk it back to the trailhead. That's part of the risk you take with a flat-soled shoe, but the tradeoff (better, more predictable feel and grip on platform/stamp style pedals) is worth it. Just my two cents.After shopping for some Five Tens, I was surprised to learn that the retail price on this brand goes all the way up to $160. Goodness gracious! While I'm sure there have been significant advancements in mountain bike / skate shoe technology since I last bought a pair, I'm also pretty sure these are also just some low-tops attached to a solid slab of rubber with some cotton laces. There's no space-age material. No innovative design or lights in the soles or see-through air pockets or any of that nonsense. And there doesn't need to be. They're simple shoes. Simple works - but simple also means I'm not going to pay over a hundred bucks for something that shouldn't cost more than $75 on a bad day. These were a little more than sixty dollars, which even I can't grumble about.I also wanted something that wouldn't show too much dirt or small bits of wear/damage if I end up beating them up a little out on the trails or wherever my adventures take me. The grey/black design helps with this. The few pops of turquoise/teal keep them from being completely boring.Overall, very good purchase at a good price.
