They work great. True to size. I'm the stoker on our tandem. Every pedal push is power to the wheels.
These shoes are very heavy. There is a huge amount of rubber on the sides and bottom. I have a hybrid used mainly on roads / maintained trails. No way it would be comfortable to spend 1-2 hours pedaling with these.
I like the looks and the bottoms of the shoes. They can be used as a platform shoe or clip less. They run small and uncomfortable causing sore feet.
More comfortable with half size bigger.
