Cobb Hill Women's Penfield Envelope Ballet shoes are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. They hug your feet nicely, the leather inside and out is buttery soft and of high quality. The heel is low but a good height for walking, sole is slip proof, the toe box has a good depth and width, insole makes your feet feel happy, very comfortable to wear for long hours. I cannot rave enough about the shoes!!

Although this is sold as a X-wide shoe, the rear foot/heel area is narrower than most. For anyone who wears orthotics, this is a problem because it means the orthotic will be wider than the back of the shoe and one of two things will happen. Either (a) the orthotic will push out the sides of the shoe, thus making the heel too loose and the foot cannot stay in the shoe; or (b) the orthotic won't sit flat and level in the shoe and won't work properly.The insole has padding in two areas, which means it will need to be removed in order to accomodate most orthotics. Without the insole, the inside of the shoe is flat, but it now has almost no cushioning. This isn't a problem if the orthotic is full length (heel to toes) but most aren't. Most are only 1/2 to 3/4 as long as the shoe. This means the front of the foot feels like you are walking barefoot on cement. No cushioning or shock absorbtion whatsoever.Someone who doesn't need orthotics and has a wide forefoot and narrow or narrow-ish hee, will probably like this shoe because the leather upper material is very nice. But anyone who has to wear orthotics should steer clear.
Needed comfortable walk around shoes. Need to wear them for awhile but I'm pretty satisfy!
Attractive shoe...more so than the picture says. Comfortable right out the box. I don't wear Wide and Narrow would never work so this shoe was a really fine surprise when it was a true 10. More Cobb shoes in my future
The color is as shown. The fit a little large. I had to order 1/2 size smaller. Very comfortable.
I should have believed all those reviewers about sizing and this brand running large. I ordered a 9N - these shoes were like a 91/2 - 10 and either medium or wide. Just about fell off my foot - and they were much, much uglier than the picture.
The toe box is just right. Perfect for winter and fall. I like to wear them with ultra low socks. Jeans on and these shoes and I can do errands and stay on my feet all day.
