Miz Mooz Women's ALANIS Sandal, Black, 8.5 M US

I loved these at first on-line site, but even though I am an average shoe size (8 1/2 M) I was worried about the ankle strap. I have high arches and my feet are pretty much boney overall. These sandals are just great. If there HAD to be a negative, it would be that the toe strap is a trifle loose - but then, I have not yet spent an entire day walking around in them (as I will 3 weeks from now on tour in Italy - Yippee). I usually wear and 8 1/2, but ordered size 8 in these because they are open toe and it is only my 2nd toe that is longer (or my great toe is shorter), so with the open toe an 8 is very comfortable. My concern about the ankle strap was unfounded. I was able to fasten it to where it felt the shoe was securely on my foot and remained so as I walked around the house, but the fit was comfortable and the strap rested nicely below the ankle bone. The contour on the foot bed was friendly to my feet and the grip striations on the heel are quite sufficient for traction - but, as comfortable as they are, I would NOT go hiking in them. Also, I think a person with a wider foot might find the foot bed contour not as comfortable as it is for me. I had loved the Look of another pair of Miz Moo sandals that were the same colors as these, but had a criss-cross strap from the ankle over the arch, which could have been problematic for me, even if the look of the others did appeal a bit more. I chose comfort for my arches and am quite pleased with my choice. I would definitely buy them again

Shoe reviewed: Miz Mooz Alanis, Brandy, Size 7:These shoes are marvelous for me. I read previous reviews stating that the reviewers loved the shoe, but that it ran a bit wide in the front and that sounded right up my alley. I have a flat, wide foot with a normal width heel but wide forefoot with bunions. The actual length of my foot shows me to be a 7, but usually I have to go up to a 7.5 for width. Well not with these shoes! I took a chance that the reviewers were right and it turned out that size 7 is perfect - and still has adequate room in the front for when your feet swell in the hot summer heat. Another plus - it covers my bunions!I received these in the mail earlier today and have been walking around the house in them ever since as they are the most comfortable things ever. The leather is like butter - soft and supple! I normally would never bring a pair of shoes I hadn't broken in for at least a month on a vacation that involves walking (a sure recipe for blisters and sore feet), but these are coming to Italy with me! I leave in less than a week and if I think I'd have to actively try and modify the shoe to get any sort of blister. The leather is just too soft and flexible to rub anywhere.I chose the brown sandals with white strap and I LOVE the contrast. I have medium skin that tans very easily and the rich brown is a few shades darker while the stark white adds flare to a pretty safe sandal. I also really like the back band - looks a bit like a cuff. Adds a bit of edgy interest. They are made in Portugal and I have another pair of boots made in Portugal - Fidji brand and these sandals, like those boots, are of very impressive quality. Only problem I'm seeing is that the beautiful bronze buckle leaves smudges on the stark white ankle strap so that it looks a bit dirty where the metal has rubbed. Oh well, I think its not very noticeable and with my departure date so close, it's not worth it to me to return for another color as I really love these except for that issue. I'm going to try sealing the inside of the buckle with clear nail polish then using my white shoe polish on the strap to return it to its stark white color.UPDATE:I've just returned from my trip to Italy. First, the sealing and cleaning worked well. I ended up wearing these shoes everywhere in Italy and they were wonderful. At the end of the very first day, I had sore soles, but it seemed the shoe conformed to my feet after that and I never had a moment's worry after. The soft leather did stretch, but only the strap. I just tightened them to the next hole. And oh the compliments I got... Highly recommend! I'm thinking about other colors!

I now have 3 pair in different colors. They are so comfortable and cute! Order a 1/2 size smaller. I ordered 2 in the size I usually wear and had to send one back because the band that goes across the foot by my toes was a little loose. I wear a size 10 but now have two in size 9 1/2 and they're perfect. I, also, have wide feet and was surprised how loose the one pair of shoes were. Usually, shoes are tight on me and I wait for them to stretch out. If you have really narrow feet, these are not for you!

Very comfortable, beautiful color and the softest leather I’ve seen on shoes. Unfortunately too wide and maybe that makes it feel short as my toes stick out.

Comfortable. I’ve had a lot of comments. Holding up so far with a lot of use.

I do have somewhat narrow feet and these fit too wide. I had to return…but they are super cute and well made! Just not right for a narrow foot.
