I had a hard time finding black school shoes for my daughter in pre-k. The tennis shoes I initially bought were too chunky so I decided to buy these shoes and do not regret. My daughter has special needs with flat feet and shoes with good support is a must. She runs and plays around at school just fine, the shoes are flexible enough and provide the support she needs. We're very happy. The size was not misleading at all. She uses 10-10.5 and it translates to a 27 in pediped with some room to grow.
This is our second pair. Her first pair lasted the entire school year and still had plenty of life left. We live in the midwest so they see a lot of different weather scenarios. I think they last longer because they aren't leather. Her last pair didn't even scuff until the last week of school. They are so easy to clean too. Fyi, I just volunteered at school and there were some rough looking shoes midway thru. My daughter's shoes still look great. No holes, the velcro still works, and the soles are holding up great. These shoes are great for dress school uniform shoes. They are comfortable and hold up really well. This is our second pair after my daughter out grew her first. Highly recommend for comfort and durability.

My daughter loves these shoes for school but the top of the right foot completely lifted off. Trying to hold it together with glue until I get it repaired or get other shoes. Unfortunate especially at the price paid!
My daughter loves her new shoes. They are comfortable and work for both casual and dressy occasions. We stick with the pediped brand because we know how it fits and that it has arch support for my daughter's sensitive feet.
