I feel awful for those that received knockoffs. I got real black on black TOMs for $30! I feel lucky! I have very wide peasant feet ( think short even length toes with a wide forefoot and skinny heel) that go between a 6.5 and 7. I also have a high arch and a ridiculously high instep(top of the foot) from a decade of pointe work in ballet. Some shoes just don’t work for my foot. These are borderline almost unwearable. I love them, they could be comfortable but the toe box squishes my toes to the point of making them go numb after 30 minutes. That’s no good. I have stuffed them to stretch them and the left shoe is perfect now. But my right foot is more muscular and defined than the left and it still has some stretching to do. The other issue I have is that this shoe just by design has a very slippery bottom. I ordered a size 7 to try and account for the narrower width and it will work once I get it more broken in but I could have gone with a 6.5 but I worry that it would have been even more squishy in the toe area. The very first time you wear them you will hate it. Wide foot or not. It’s scratchy and uncomfortable. I am not put off by TOMS just yet. I love the company mission and once broken in, the comfort and style of them. But I do wish they considered making them for wider feet so the dance of them shoe break in wasn’t so extravagant. I’m almost reminded of breaking in pointe shoes. A dancers bane.
I'm a 7.5 (US), and these little black flats were exactly as pictured, true to size, reasonably priced,and exactly what I was looking for. They also arrived quickly. I definitely recommend!
I use them to go to the beach. I needed to replace my previous Tom's that I have for quite a few years. They're lite, and grab to my feet well as I walk on the sand.
I wore these shoes on 2 separate trips to San Diego and Peru. Both places had temperatures in the 70s during my vacations. When traveling to mild-warm climates, you don't want a shoe that will make your feet sweat but you also don't want to get frost bite on your toes when you're on a plane. I think these shoes are a great compromise as the canvas allows your foot to breathe when you're outdoors and offers protection from the air conditioning indoors. They're also easy to slip on and off as you go through airport security. Their light weight is convenient to stuff into a carry-on if you need to change shoes during a trip (l came home to snow so I swapped these for boots).Once on vacation, these were my go-to shoes for sightseeing all day, going to the zoo and shopping, going to the desert, sandboarding, zip-lining and white-water rafting. They're so versatile for a range of activities because of the material and fit over the foot, yet they are stylish because of the neutral color and simple design.In hindsight, I would probably have gotten these shoes in Ash because the dirt may be less noticeable than on the Light Beige ones that I bought. They might just be my next TOMS purchase...
OK so I gave the this 4 stars because it worked out all in the end they are amazing I wear a size 7 1/2 and I seen some reviews saying get a bigger size don’t get a bigger size I ordered my true size 7 1/2 and when I first put them on they were so tight it hurt my feet for like the first hour I seen on one of the reviews a girl had the same thing on her review so I put them on but after that I took them off for like 10 minutes and put them back on and it fit perfect and it was very comfortable so if you want to get these shoes the only thing that I would advise is that you have time to wear them for at least an hour but besides that it all worked out great pair of shoes if you’re willing to put the work in
I wasn't sure what to expect since I've never bought Toms before! They were a little tight at first(But that's the point) because they do stretch! So, if you wear a half size, definitely round down, not up! (I'm usually a 7 1/2 and got a 7) It took about a day to break in and then they are the most comfy shoes to wear! I loved them so much that I ended up buying two more pairs since I've bought these! Gotta love all the different patterns and designs that are available!
