I've bought these for years in black and brown. When the soles get worn out I retire them from office duty and use them for work (outside, mechanic work). Comfortable from day one, no break-in and hold up without polishing.
Comfy for long shifts on feet, easy to slip on/off, antislip thick bottoms, look nice, second pair I’ve owned and will buy again
This is great in literally every aspect. Great traction, great look, great comfort, ( And I say this as someone who owns a Hoka Bondi 8 and a Brooks Glycerin GTS 20, both of which are famous for comfort), outstanding slip on access without any trouble with the heel having a hard time getting in, and I've worn it for a while now. However. Though this would be a five star review if all these things were the only thing I'd write about, there was one inconvenience. Nothing big. But yet nothing too small either. The weight of the shoe feels like as though you will be getting a leg workout just walking around in them all day. So if you are always on the go, and always on the move at your workplace without catching a break every now and then, I do not believe this is the shoe for you. However, if you have a moreso stagnant role that requires you to move around and have brief periods of still activity than I'll gladly fully recommend this one to you. Overall though as a waiter in a fine dining restaurant, I am fully satisfied with these, and honestly my managers even wished they had them as well as the other coworkers.. They just have a certain look to them that screams professionalism. Which is why even though there is somewhat a problem with the weight, I'm still very content with them.
Very comfortable and easy to clean. No blisters or wet feet!
I purchased these after my local stores stopped carrying a less expensive Dr. Scholl's work shoe. I figured a more expensive upgrade of the same basic form factor shoe with the same company would suit me fine but I was extremely disappointed:1. The shoes are way too large for the size listed. I've never had a shoe in my size be this loose. It's way beyond the variation normally encountered between brands/models. I had to wear two pairs of socks and use an aftermarket heel insert to make them at all wearable.2. The sole started deteriorating and peeling off after less than a week of light wear. It's a thin non-slip layer that is glued on. I had to use shoe glue to reattach it but it didn't last long and I shouldn't have to do repairs on a pair of shoes after owning them for less than a week.3. The upper isn't durable. While walking up stairs I lightly stubbed the toe and later discovered gouges that showed the gray base below. The description says 100% leather but if that's the case it's a very thin layer. The less expensive model of Dr. Scholl's work shoes I used to get were much more durable. I would expect scuffs with normal wear but not chunks taken out. It's really too bad, this would have been a great pair of shoes and served my purposes very well if only the quality, durability and sizing were decent. I'll have to find a better alternative and although I've had good experiences with other Dr. Scholl's shoes in the past, this particular model, Winder II, really let me down.
After only about a month of weekday desk job use the insoles have deteriorated around the heels of each shoe. The fact that these are Dr. Scholl's makes poor insoles completely inexcusable as a point of failure. The length is good, however, the width lets my foot constantly slide and roll side-to-side. The shoes are also very loose around the top and the heel. enough that have to walk like they are a pair of slides/flipflops or they just flop right off my feet. I will say the build quality, other than the insoles, seems excellent so far. If you have chubby/bulky/wide feet or always rock some extra thick winter socks and get replacement insoles these are passable shoes.
