I need a wider fitting shoe between 9.5 and 10. Ordering shoes on line will certainly eliminate the option of trying both sizes on to ensure you purchase the correct fitting shoe, so I chose the larger size as I do not like a tighter fitting shoe and won't tolerate them for a long period of time. These Rockports were really nice looking and made well. Wearing them on the first day, I was disappointed in myself for ordering the larger size and knew I had to do something to fix the problem. So, I ordered the Sof Sole Men's Lightweight Insole to insert and hopefully have my shoes fitting well.Wow! The inserts made the shoes fit absolutely perfect! And on top of that, wearing these shoes feels amazing. From the softness of the inserts to the perfect fit and the way the shoe holds my foot. The soles are quality and walk softly. I have to say these are probably the best work shoes I've ever had.So, make your decision on the size and if they feel like they are a half size too big, order the Sof Sole insoles and you should be extremely satisfied. Thanks Amazon.
This is my third pair of this brand. Very comfortable.
My right ankle hits the cuff of the shoe, creating temporary discomfort. Never had that before in any shoe. They are made in china where quality is more serf than king.A good shoe for business casual, and steel toe allows entrance to factory floors.
I'm a cook who works on a concrete floor for about 10ish hours a day. I've been wearing these shoes for about a month now and LOVE them!! They are definitely heavy but that's probably because the rubber sole is so thick and the leather is also thick and durable. I've bought cheaper shoes in the past and they're usually comfortable at first, until the sole totally wears out and the leather starts separating at the seams. I can tell these will last a long time, totally worth the price!Note: I have been wearing them with gel insoles which really makes the shoes hug my feet and I totally recommend it. But I did wear them for a week with no insole and didn't have any issues. Anyway, great shoes!
The purchased RK6761 Work Shoe that I wanted was 9.5 XW but received a 9.5 EW, steel toe, seem okay when worn a bit at home and did not really noticed the label size difference but it was not good the next day at work. The shoe is more narrow than the previously purchased ROCKPORT K71218, 9.5, XW which fit great and still wear today but does not have steel or composite toe. What i needed was XW and Amazon shows it as 9.5 XW. Check what you get which may be different than what you think you ordered.
This is a good, comfortable steel-toe casual shoe. The quality is great, the shoe is comfortable, and of course it is a full-fledged safety shoe. The only thing I don't like about this shoe, and it is a huge issue for me hence the three star rating, is that the soles squeak like crazy on any sort of finished floor: waxed tiles, polyurethane-coated wood, etc. That means I'm "that guy" who squeaks when he comes into the room. Not a problem if you're wearing these shoes on a factory floor, but if you're looking for something to wear in both work and casual environments like me it is a problem. I've had these shoes a couple months so this is not a break-in issue.Other reviewers don't like the insoles and said they had them replaced. Personally, I think they're fine. One should note that the shoe box contains a warning that the electrostatic dissipative rating of the shoe depends upon the insoles and that they should not be replaced. If you don't need an ESD shoe, of course that doesn't apply. So, as long as you don't mind being "Mr. Squeaky," I think these are great shoes and would recommend them. If squeaking is an issue for you, look elsewhere: Red Wing has some very nice steel toe casual shoes.
I was hesitant because I haven't worn steel or composite toes in years. First day, right shoe (toe) was bothering me a bit, but by 2nd day the shoe had conformed nicely and I didn't even notice. I ordered 3 different shoe brands, each in 11 1/2 & 12 through Amazon Wardrobe. I'm really glad I did because because the other brands were horrible. and the 11 1/2 in these was bit too tight everywhere. And, like I said, by the second day they were completely broken in and I've been wearing them full-time, quite comfortably, ever since. Hopefully these will last long because I really do like them.
I just realized I never reviewed these. Hubby is still wearing them. He works in ink and grease and is on his feet for 8 hours. He said they fit great from when he first got them. He had planned on breaking them in slowly, but found that they didn't need to be broken in. The only problem he has had with them is that the metal eyelet rings have come loose, but he says he's not ready to order another pair yet. He has back problems and hip problems and believes these shoes have helped him to have less pain while working. Will be buying again.. as soon as he decides to let the old pair go!
