I have trouble finding shoes that fit, I usually get blisters on the tops of my hammer toes and on my pinky toe from wide feet. I am 6'3" 240 pounds, have hammer toes, high arches, wide feet (so I ordered size 12EEE). I just started a new job as a Waiter/Server at a new restaurant and Manager, so I put a lot of miles on my shoes, on wet greasy floors, and if my feet hurt, I get grumpy, which means I lose tips or don't want to work as much or as hard. It is very important to me that my shoes are good, to keep me in a happy mood and make me want to work more hours. And I have owned some very expensive shoes from handmade Danner boots, Cole Haan, Rockport, Salomon and Dansko to name a few, so I have no problem buying very expensive shoes. These Skechers Cottonwood Elks are very comfortable right out of the box! They are very roomy all over and have a large toe-box for my hammer toes. I got no blisters even on day one. (I did try a trick I learned from hiking: I wore thin nylon socks against my skin,or women's' nylons can work, and a thick sock outside.....this prevent blisters even in new shoes or long hikes). I like how stable these shoes are and how well they grip! They are very comfortable but also give me confidence with the large sole and good slip-resistant tread. I was extremely impressed with these shoes on day one. I also bought some Dansko Walkers which cost $140, and there is no doubt the Dansko are a more quality shoe and worth the money (more stable, form-fitted, less squishy and appear they will last much longer), these Skecher Cottonwood Elks are an extremely good shoe and I would highly recommend them!!!
I work as a mechanic in a cement floor all day. These are very comfortable and the slip resistant soles with great. I wish they kept your feet warmer but very satisfied. These in a steel toe or composition safety toe would be perfect. Great value for the money. Very durable and they look good.
This is my 3rd pair of these shoes that I'm reviewing. I really like these shoes a lot in regard to their comfort. This is the wide version of width. The main issue I have with these shoes is the shoelace over time will knot up (which has started on this pair) to the point you need to replace the shoelaces. The shoelaces have a bad habit of not staying tied and I find myself having to double knot them. My 2nd complaint is that the black coating on the shoes over time will wear off a little quicker than I would expect. This may be because of rain, but it's a repeating issue. Overall, a great pair of work shoes.
Comfortable. My favorite and sturdy.
Really good slip resistance, comfortable right out of the box.
i have plantar fasciitis and these shoes are so great for them. especially being on my feet all day
For my age and condition of my feet these shoes help support my feet so I can stand all on my feet at work. These shoes may be what you may be looking for. I believe your like them .
First off, the shoe is comfortable and has a cushioned insole. It also appears to be made out of top grain leather so it hasn't fallen apart on the leather side. My biggest issue with this shoe is that the inside is lined with a type of mesh plastic that started falling apart about about six months of use. Im guessing this was used to improve sturdiness while lowering the thickness of the leather and I've seen it in other shoes more recently. The problem with it is the little plastic pieces that would come off of this mesh and would end up in my shoe and made it uncomfortable to walk on. The previous sketchers I had that were similar to these did not have this mesh. Hopefully Sketchers comes up with something more durable for support because if I buy a different pair and it happens again, I'm switching to a different brand.
