Wow. I'm sold.I sent the link to my family.I was hesitant about these because they look like old lady shoes (old ladies have achy feet and have years of experience wearing the wrong, most uncomfortable shoes and have it figure out in the end, right? So they know their stuff?). I'm not old, BUT I do typically love Dansko. ❤️I tried these on and it's like walking on very supportive clouds. Kinda springy, but not like they're going to collapse and lose all of their chushion in two months. Some hiking shoes aren't great on pavement because the lack of cushion in trade for a firmer, gurippy sole to accommodate the trail, but I'm thinking these ones will be ok.I have medium feet - narrow heel, wide toe. I also have battled plantar fasciitis off and on for 4 years (work boots). I'm only wearing them around the house right now, but I'm imagining all the hiking and traveling I'm going to do in these. They're leather, so I imagine they'll last. They're waterproof, so that makes them all-season, at least here in the PNW they are.Shipping took longer than all the other shoes I had simultaneously ordered.I worked in footwear for many years and have tried on A LOT of shoes and I'm pleasantly surprised by these. Will see how they break in and wear out and will update later.I just wish their were more color options.
So I almost exclusively wear Dansko. I work in a hospital and can stand up to 10 hours in a shift. I have mostly Professionals but I do also have some sandals and athletic shoes. This pair I was excited to get as I liked the mostly black color. When I first wore them the soles were loud. I nearly returned them because of the noise. They sounded like when you walk thru something sticky. I liked the fit and how comfortable they were to wear so I tried them for a shift. I am happy to report that the sticky noise stopped after an hour or two of walking. Now these are much softer than the Professional Danskos. They still have the great arch support just a much softer insole.Normally I give Danskos 5 stars but I nearly returned these because of the sticky noise from the soles.
Buy these! I ordered more than one hiking shoe model for lighter trails from Dansko a few years ago. While all were quality shoes, one model performed above far the rest, fit great, and accommodated my Morton’s Neuroma. When it was time to replace it, nothing similar was on offer. That sad state continued for more that a year, but the drought is over. This shoe has a superior insole, the foot slides in easily and has a pull strap, the deeper heel is padded at the top to hold the foot in place, the toe box is on the wider side, the tread is improved, and some fashionable design flair has been added. The color is more taupe than beige. I recommend treating it with leather conditioner before use.Update: bought a second pair, black this time. Love this shoe.
Support needed better arch support!ū
I have loved Dansko clogs since I first discovered them several decades ago. When my ankles started to bend a little too much, I stopped wearing them. This shoe offers the best of both worlds! I feel my foot is supported, can flex while I walk and hike, and I like the style.
Big fan of dansko shoes, but this one, not as comfortable as I thought it will be.
Perfect for people who work on hard floors for 9+ hours a day! Only “dislike “ that’s not super important to me is they’re not slip resistant.
Very well made . Good quality good construction. Looks like a bowling shoe
