Immediately fits size 12 men's. Traction is wonderful after meniscus knee surgery. Serious stability.
size down 1/2 size from your normal size to get a proper fit. these are amazing shoes the tall side wall gortex material is great to keep the elements out, the soles wear really well in many environments from work to outdoor running. i own alot of shoes and thsese are my favoite light weight , but heavy duty. thanks for makeing a great shoe and lacing system the only con is the eye hooks are a little too large/long causing the boa lace to tension more than needed in certian areas of the shoe and taking a faction second more to auto lace.
Love the grip and comfort of the shoes.Wore them everyday in all conditions on a 13 days hiking trip to Scotland
Zero complaints. I've been in frozen, wet conditions and blazing hot desert conditions over a 4 day trip and this shoe somehow kept my feet warm and dry in the cold climate, and cool and comfy (mildly sweaty, but that was mostly my socks) in the hot climate. Everyone else packed several pair of footwear for the trip. I just had these shoes and I had no issues at all. I've already added another pair to my wish list so I can buy them again when I need to replace this pair.
Good product as expected
The Icebug Haze has the right comfort, durability, and grip. I found this to be a perfect shoe for hiking and outdoor casual wear. I am huge fan of the BOA system; it makes lacing a breeze and makes it easy to adjust to give the right fit. I did not have any issues with the shoes over the past 3 weeks and it has held up really well. Dirt and dust showed up on the black shoes quite easily but can be wiped off with a wet rag. Prior to using the Icebug Haze, I used Altra lone peak and the Solomon speed cross. I found it to be more comfortable than the Speed cross and had more grip than the Altra lone peak. I will find myself using these shoes anytime I am outdoors, on light hikes, or camping. If you need a more aggressive shoe difficult terrain or do obstacle course racing, I recommend the Solmon Speed cross 5s.ProsComfortableBOA lacing systemDurableEnvironmental consensus manufactureConsMay not provide enough stability or support for difficult hiking terrain or OCR racing.
I can tell these are top quality hiking shoes, with excellent quality construction and features (the BOA lacing system is amazing, I have several pairs of shoes with it and just love it), but unfortunately they didn't work for me. My feet measure between a size 9 and 9.5, and I almost always get a size 10 in my shoes because I don't like a cramped toe box. I got a size 10 in these Icebugs and I was very surprised at how cramped they feel. My feet are narrow at the heel but wide in the toe area, and these shoes feel like they are made for people with very narrow toes. They press down on the top and sides of my big toenail and make my feet feel way too cramped. I want them to be longer, wider, and have a little more vertical room at the big toe.I got two pairs of Icebugs - these, and the Larvik midcut walking shoe, and they BOTH have the EXACT same fit problem, so I guess it's just the Icebug shape. I've never had this problem with any other shoe brand. Salomon shoes fit me the best because they have a wide toe box.I REALLY wanted to like these shoes but hiking in them would be too uncomfortable with my toenail rubbing against the end of the shoe, so unfortunately they didn't work for me. I would consider getting these in a size 10.5 or 11 if I could find them in a shoe store to try on the fit and make sure they have enough room.
I had never heard of Icebug - so my expectations were minimal - but these are really great hiking shoes. I am not a hardcore hiker, but live in the country and wear hiking shoes on a daily basis. These are really comfortable in comparison to any of my shoes, with a soft insole that molds to your foot. I love the Boa lace system (have it on my fishing boots and it is terrific). The shoes are really well made and look like they will hold up, and the soles really grip! I normally wear a 10 - a 10 1/2 occassionally. Ordered these in 10 and the fit well, but I am wishing I had gone a half size larger to accomodate bigger socks. If you are more on the cusp I would go up a half size.
