I liked the roomy toe box that Keen features.I wear a size 15 and this shoe fits well with medium to thick socks, otherwise they are a bit too loose.
These shoes were comfortable out of the box. The quality seems to be good and they're nice looking shoes. Now the real test will be how long they hold together and only time will tell that.
So, Being size 15, my selection of hiking shoe brands is somewhat limited. For ages, I used to wear Merell but decided to try something new. Keen does carry my size. I bought Targhee 3 on the 9th of September and returned it today..... less than a month, and about 120 city miles later, the counter lining is coming off - see pictures. I was mostly wearing them I the city - hardly a hiking-level product. On a side note - Keen likes to tell how they make or at least assemble their shoes in the USA, well these were made in India....
Keen's fit great. Broke them in around the house then took them on a trip. I was in love with Keen. So comfortable. Soles separated very quickly, re glued to no avail. Less than 20 miles and the sole fell off rendering these garbage. As you can see in the photos there is no wear they just fell apart. I didn't wear them right away so my return window closed. If I was hiking a remote area I would have lost my foot to frostbite. Shame on you Keen for abandoning quality control.
Sometimes the gluing fails too soon!In this case time will tell.
I usually wear a 14 and never have issues finding shoes that fit. Unfortunately, both the 14 and 15 fit poorly. The 14 is too short with my toes hitting the end of the toe box and the 15 allows my heel to lift. Sending these back and will be going with a different shoe.
I ordered size 15 after trying on size 16 of the same style and finding that 16 was way too large. The size 15 I received were too small.On top of that, the Keen logo on the tongue of the shoe on the shoes I received is embroidered. On the official Keen photos and on the Amazon product page, the Keen logo is stamped into the tongue material.Additionally, the caution symbol on the toe is the same color as the rest of the sole. On the official Keen website and on the Amazon product page, the caution symbol for the Bungee Cord/Black color should not be the same color as the rest of the sole material.Finally, the product arrived in non-original packaging without tags.
Much stiffer and less comfortable than Targhee 2. I don't see it as an improvement. Returning it and buying another pair of the Targhee 2's.
