Fit, comfort, nice heel cup, solid sole, lots of toe room, great arch support … and waterproof …. Love ‘em! My second pair. Still wearing my first pair for yard work. One of the shoes lost its waterproof feature after 8 years of fairly heavy wear. New comfy waterproof shoes for the wet seasons coming up in Michigan. Bought early while in my size and on sale!
I love my keen presidio maryjane shoes! Fit like a glove with no breaking in. The red dahlia is also different than the one they offered in red dahlia/ red. I have both pair as well as the black and brown. I have about 6 things to look for when buying a shoe due to an ankle fusion and wide feet the keen presidio maryjane is a perfect fit for me. Qualities are a wide roomy toe box an adjustable leather strap across the foot , light weight leather shoe, one continuous flat sole that covers the whole bottom of the shoe (no curves in the the sole arch on the bottom and no height different in the heel). I also like and need the material the sole is made of. It is not real hard/and at the same time it is not to spongy. I still have the support and comfort without wearing the sole down on one side. This shoe is the right height around my heel around the back of my ankle.(because I don't have that "normal ankle indention" I don't want a higher back that cuts into my leg. The keen also has some flex just in the right places due to it's sole material and soft leather uppers that I definitely need in a shoe (so far that's 7 needs in a shoe fit for me and I can think of a couple more. Now you see why I own so many pairs! BU T unfortunately Keen is discontinuing this model why ? When I have read so many good reviews. They need to bring it back along with the color options of blue/gray gargoyle and Logan for U.S.
I took a chance on ordering the shoes since I could tell from the reviews that the size is a bit off. I followed other reviewers' recommendations and ordered a half size down, but that wasn't enough. The length was about 1cm too long and the shoe overall 1/2cm too wide on each side. The wide build does make the toe box nice and roomy though! They would slip off my heel when walking, even in normal socks and with the strap cinched tightly. Overall I thought the construction of the shoe tread and body was very sturdy. The weight of the shoe did not feel any heavier than a sneaker, which is a plus. I am rather bummed about the sizing, as these are nice looking shoes that will go with many outfits, and be rugged enough to handle rocks, puddles, streets, and more. Wish the price hadn't gone up on the smaller size, or I would order down again (making it a full size down from my usual) and give it a shot. Some other notes: I am concerned that the strap is thin. Because it is a buckle shoe, this will cause extra wear-and-tear on the strap leading to early failure. I am also concerned that the elastic on the buckle will similarly fail long before the rest of the shoe.Bottom line: Order down a size. Probably not best for people with narrow feet or high arches.
These came up for me when I searched for gardening shoes. I wanted something that would protect my feet from screwups and provide stability. I see no need to be bouncing my head off rocks unnecessarily, so I decided to try these. I had to take a minute when they arrived because they are definitely not cute, but they are wide enough for my toes; the arch support is great; they are tough, waterproof, and solid; so comfortable. I've even gone walking in them...!
I have tons of shoe products by Keen and love them. I was devastated when the Presidio Sport waterproof oxford was discontinued, as it was my go-to shoe for soggy weather. I thought I would try this shoe, as it seemed similar. The pair I got from Amazon had cat hair on them, but aside from this, these shoes were unnaturally stiff and unbendable. Because of this, the back of the shoes never bent properly and could not be made tight enough. I returned them.
I wanted to love these, and really they're quite nice as far as arch support and the bottom of my feet go, but the ridge at the top (not the strap, but the part that covers the toes) and the inside near my toes rubs really painfully. I'm hoping with time they'll break in but for now, ouch.
These are very well made shoes, and I am going to order another pair. My feet are exactly 10 inches long, so I checked the sizing chart and ordered size 9.5 ladies (US) or 40 (European) - just as the chart suggested. BUT, my feet are also VERY wide (4 1/4 inches). Most reviews indicated that these work very well for boat-sized feet, and they do! The shoes fit fine, wore them all day today; however, my little toes are a bit sore from hitting the edge of the shoe, and I would have liked a bit more wiggle room (personal preference - I like a little bit looser fitting clothing and foot wear. So, the next pair I am going to order will be size 10. And since these are leather, I am assuming the 9.5 size will become more comfortable as well as I break them in. Very happy!Update after a month of wearing: I did order the same pair in size 10, and they are a bit too loose - still work, but I am sliding around too much when walking on very uneven ground - which I do a lot. BUT, I am super pleased to report, the 9.5 size wore in beautifully - unfortunately it took about 30 days of sore little toes, but now these are the best gardening shoes I have. Added some mink oil to the leather to make them a bit more waterproof, but if you are in moderate wetness, they are fine without extra help. Glad I have 2 pairs!
These are good walking shoes and not ugly (as walking shoes often are!) so I'm very pleased. The red colour is cheerful and I could wear these with casual skirts as well as jeans or shorts. They are very wide in the toe box (suits me as I have wide feet) and the toes turn up at the end so they run close to being "clown shoes" but manage to stay on the right side of that line, at least in my opinion.EDIT: I've been wearing these shoes everywhere at the weekend and evenings, up hill and down dale, over all kinds of surface. They are holding up very well. I'm very happy with my purchase.
