Pay very close attention to the other reviews about this being a narrow fit - they are indeed narrow. I have a small narrow foot, so I'm able to work with that and use it to my advantage. I've spent the last day breaking these in - including loosening up the laces and wearing tape on the back of my foot. These are going to be perfect hiking shoes come warmer weather - they are lightweight and vented with a nice support & traction.
First day wore this, fit like an old glove. I like everything about it. Have a good arch support, pretty, light weight, airy ( important, since I have fungus toenails for being diabetic, so my feet need air circulation), Soft inside so I can just wear thin stockings and fit just perfect for my normal size 7.5. Sz 8 will be good if I wear a medium weight sock. Waiting for a black pair. This black/Steel is more of a dark gray color.
I did not like these shoes at first because the fit was too tight. I have worn them for several days now and they are much more comfortable. I know they don't have a wide-toe box like most Keen shoes, but they are meant to stabilize your foot while walking on rough terrain. I like them for their breathability, weight, color, arch support, grip, and overall appearance. I have bunions on both feet so my main concern was comfort. I purchased my usual size in Keens and the fit was perfect. I will use these mainly for walks and doing errands even though I can wear them all day. I recently bought the Keen NXIS Speed low vent hiker and these are my favorite hikers to date (very comfy). I bought them specifically for a summer trip to Yellowstone. I also purchased the Keen NXIS EVO, and although they are excellent shoes, I returned them as I could not wear them for more than a couple of hours at a time.
This shoe is very comfortable. The shoe is true to size. These are NOT waterproof, but water resistant. I live on a farm in the Midwest and have worked in the mud and the water puddles and they were great if it was raining or drizzling outside, but if you did put your foot in a puddle and the water got onto the fabric, it went through…beautiful shoe tho.
This is my third pair of Keens, already have a pair of their Mary Janes and leather Presidio. The Terradorra was a perfect fit and very comfortable right out of the box. Next time I will splurge and get the waterproof version. I highly recommend Keens for comfort and function for outdoor activities.
I bought these initially for the color because they match blue jeans. But, they are also comfortable, snug, work well on steep hiking trails. I like them so much, I bought a second pair for when my first pair eventually wears out.
Not sure what has happened to Keen, but these are not like the Keens I've been wearing for years. The 'arch support' that is mention is no where near your arch. No comfort at all and just not the quality in support from years past. Don't know what has happened, but just disappointing to say the least.
The toe box is definitely more narrow than typical Keens. The product photos don’t seem as if there’s that much of a difference. Here is a photo of these shoes next to NXIS from Keen. Terradora on the left in the 1st photo and the right on the tread photo. Definitely narrower and therefore had to return.
