Got these as a birthday present and was very excited, having recently gotten into the barefoot style of shoe and looking for an upgrade. Barefoot shoes are supposed to have a wide foot bed and these were literally the most narrow pair of shoes I’ve ever put on my feet. I mean, they’d be very narrow for a regular pair of tennis shoes.. and these are supposed to be barefoot shoes! Such a shame. Will never buy merrell again.
I have wide feet and have a hard time finding shoes that don't feel cramped in the toe area, even with wide widths. It's not because my feet are super wide, I just think quality control is poor and also we all have unique feet. My feet also get hot in a lot of shoes, which I find uncomfortable.I wear these inside with socks. I've never used barefoot shoes before, so I was skeptical. While the toebox material does touch the top of my toes, it doesn't bother me because it's flexible and breathable. Arch support is good--feels like normal shoes. They're a bit tight getting on, because the opening is restricted. I bet if I didn't wear socks, they would be perfect. I normally wear 12 Wide, and these fit with socks on. 12 1/2 might be better. If you don't want to wear socks, you should find your normal size to fit well.
Those shoes are my introduction to zero drop shoes, and it took a bit of time to get tused to them, but now after a couple of months my knees hurt a lot less, and in general I feel much better walking and running.I would say that after a very long walk on concrete I find the arch of my foot really hurting, but that happened in all shoes so not specific to this one's.
i like them for feeling very quality and the way it made me walk. they took some breaking in but i go used to them quickly. unfortunately the rubber that wraps up around the toe of the shoe started peeling away after less than a week of wearing them, never kicked anything or slipped to cause it, just split :/ other than that they are pretty great shoes :)
This was put on the bottom of my list due to less than perfect reviews. However these fit my 12.5 inch foot better than theTrail glove 5 which quickly became one of my all time favorite shoes. At first the arch seems excessive but after a short time it actually adds to the stability and comfort also impact is greatly reduced compared to the previous generation (trail glove 5)
I wanted a low profile trail runner that took up minimal space in an overnight roller bag. This shoe is perfect. It is comfortable and has a great tread for walking on an uneven trail. My only complaint is that it is made for narrow feet. I have wide feet and they barely fit. So a caution to those of you in this situation.
This Trail Glove 6 is much narrower that other editions of the shoe. It was extremely tight across my toes and instep, so I returned it. The Trail Glove 7, however, fits like a glove!
For the last couple of years I’ve been a daily wearer of the venerable TG 4’s I was one of the majority who were sorely injured (such feels) when the TG 5 pooped on our favorite shoes.I purchased these TG 6’s when my knit 4’s gave up the ghost. I was leery that they had continued the overbuilt structure of the hated 5’s but was happy to see that had returned to a lesser structure. Now, the design is more ‘shoe’ and less ‘foot burrito’ but it’s far less than the last generation.Honestly, This is a case where Merrell should have stayed out of the shoe kitchen all together. There was no need to tweak the 4’s. They should have just stuck to adding colors and maybe new fabrics.
