Clean look very comfortable
I wear a 39 closed shoe for Birkenstock. This style runs small. The shoe is shallow so it is almost shoe horn level tight to put on. Not impressed. Not attractive on the foot and not comfortable.
A company who's been around for 247 years should know the anatomy of a human foot. The only way for your foot to fit inside the opening for these shoes is if you've had your foot amputated at the ball of your foot. Take a look at one of the lace-up shoes you have and see how far down the tongue opening is on the shoe. For this particular shoe, the tongue opening ends about two lacing holes down. This is the second set of shoes I've bought in the last 5 years that was like this (the other pair were boots). I would have thought Birkenstock would have learned from their error and had many people try on the prototypes prior to mass-producing them; they didn't learn. Birkenstock if you are going to make getting your foot in your shoes, the traditional way, impossible then you should develop an alternate way of getting feet inside your shoes.
