I ordered these for my son because he wanted white sneakers. At the time I did not realize they were height-increasing; he just liked the style. When we realized what I had ordered, we were interested in testing these shoes, and they fulfilled their promise. They really added at least three inches in height to my son, and they did it invisibly. You can't even tell that they are adding height from the shoe's look, though there is a little learning curve in getting used to walking on a concealed heel, especially for a man who has never walked on heels! He chose them for their color and style, and now he likes the height-increasing feature. They came with an extra set of laces and a shoe horn, which was a nice touch. And they are very well made. So, whether you want to increase your height or not, these are stylish enough to wear just for their looks, with the added height being a welcome bonus.
These shoes look good on their own, when they are just sitting there without a foot inside them. However, the shoes look obviously fake when being worn, because the wearer looks like they're on high heels (which is basically what is happening). For some reason, the white shoe manages to give the illusion up, whereas black or brown platform shoes look a lot more convincing. These are also not as comfortable as I had hoped, and due to the slanted high heel nature of them, my feet end up hurting when wearing them for over an hour. I don't have that problem with other platform shoes.
The white will make it look too obvious your wearing high heel boots best to get the black pair, it looks more natural.
I had ordered shoes from CALTO before and was not impressed with the design and bulk feel of the shoes. However, when I came across this said product, I thought I would give it a try and I am glad I did. These shoes are practical, sturdy but not heavy, looks good without looking bulky/big, and finally it adds height without making it obvious! Even though they are marketed as basketball sneakers, I have used to wear them at work (I stay standing a lot at work), while jogging, and in some day-to-day activities. Price is indeed little on the high side, but they are well worth it. Like I mentioned earlier, the new design of these sneakers provides the versatile look and function!
These are very well made but I have to say that I'm not sure anyone I know would wear them while they play basketball or that any guy I know would integrate these into their wardrobe (nothing wrong with it if they want to). I was hoping it was an error in the description but the sizes are men's as well so they are 2 sizes too big for me.
Forgot what they did until I put them on! They fooled me at first, I forgot what we even so special about them until I slipped those bad boys on and saw a whole new view. They look and feel like regular normal boys but then once worn they definitely add 3 inches to your height. They are fairly comfortable to wear, I had to wear thicker socks since it seemed that the ankle was a little loose for me even with tying the shoes tightly. They're comfortable to wear and easy to keep clean. Great material and a nice shoe for when you need to feel a little taller.
