Clarks, a name synonymous with comfort and quality, began in 1825 with two brothers, Cyrus and James Clark. Their story started with a simple idea: crafting slippers from sheepskin offcuts. This dedication to resourcefulness and innovation has been at the heart of Clarks for nearly 200 years.
Clarks prioritizes both comfort and timeless design. They are pioneers in foot-shaped technology, ensuring a perfect fit and all-day support. Their classic styles have transcended generations, while their commitment to innovation keeps them at the forefront of modern footwear trends.
I am enjoying these shoes! I've owned various styles of Clarks wave shoes and was so disappointed when I was no longer able to find them except in clunky sneaker-type styles. But these shoes are really nice! I've received several compliments on the overall look and low cut style. Very comfortable. The wave style makes walking so much easier and faster. The only complaint I have is that the shoe tongue for the right shoe is a tad longer than the left. It hits right where the foot and leg connect on the top side, thus causing a blister. Thankfully I was able to adjust the tongue enough to avoid further irritation. As to sizing, I am a true size 8. It fits perfectly. However, if I wanted to wear heavier socks for winter, I would need to upsize. These shoes are waterproof. I am not a big fan of boots, and so far these have worked well for winter snow - no cold or wet feet! But because they are what I consider medium light weight shoes (a big plus for me!), if you live in continually heavy snow areas and need deep sole grip, these are not meant for that kind of use.
I have only worn them a few times; am hoping they’ll feel better after they’re broken in. Not comforting like I wanted them to be. So far they are stiff and hard; definitely not what I wanted. I expected them to be very comfortable. It feels like I might get a bunionwhen I’ve never had one before.Update 7 months later: I want to be able to wear these shoes so much! They are so cute! But, I’m on my feet all day. Every day that I wear them, I regret it. They make my feet hurt. I have tried insoles and inserts. But, my feet still hurt.
I wore these all day for years. I work on my feet 10 hours a day many times a week. They used to last at lease 6 months. I started adding a small arch support and that helped. The last 2 pairs I have ordered were fine the first 3 or 4 months. After that they just seemed to give out. They still look ok. They just don't keep my feet comfortable like they used to. I added a small arch support and that used to work but not anymoreI have aging feet. They are just no longer the shoe that keeps my feet from hurting like they used to.
If you loved the origninal WAVE by Clarks like I did, (I owned 4 consecutive pairs of them), you may be disappointed with these. I've been a loyal Clarks brand customer for at least 10 - 12 years. Clarks has always been the brand that worked for my problematic and difficult to fit feet...I could count on them fitting and being comfortable. I was eagerly looking forward to that same experience when I placed my order for this pair of shoes. However, the WIDE width seems narrower than usual and the tongue has been stitched down in such a way that makes the shoe tight over my arch. The length seems OK but the toe in this new style is less boxy and rounded (comes to more of a point) than in the old version, so, they seem a bit snug in the toes as well. I've only worn them a few days so far but they're stiff and tight...I'm hoping they'll break in and I'll once again find that old Clarks comfort I'm used to. Despite these issues, I've given them a 3 star rating because they are of the same high quality construction as all Clarks, they still have the removable insole for orthotics and it didn't seem fair to give a lower ranking since I've only worn the shoes a few days.
I love the look and comfort of these shoes. Unlike my past Clarks walking shoes, these are taking a really long time to break in. Maybe it's because the sole it thicker and the overall shoe is more stiff? I recommend covering your heel with duct tape the first few weeks of use (maybe longer? I'm still dealing with blisters and band-aids). Hopefully I will reach a point at which I don't need heel coverage to walk in these, because so far it's been really disappointing to experience.
I couldn’t find this shoe on the Clark website but it was available on Amazon. These are sturdy, comfortable walking shoes and I walked all over Norway in these shoes. My feet were well supported and did not hurt while walking on cobblestones. This is my second pair as I wore the first ones out. Love these shoes.
Great pair of shoes. Was going to buy these at a Clark's store in the mall, but they were cheaper on Amazon. If available, I try to buy shoes that are size Narrow, because I have very narrow feet. I have another pair of Clark's Wavewalk shows that are a size Narrow and fit me perfectly. Yet the body of the shoe was a bit more bulkier than these Andes Wavewalk shoes. I got this pair in size Medium, and they are plenty tight around my feet, in fat, a size Narrow in these shoes might have been too tight for me.They do take some time to break into however. Also, if I am wearing these shows more 4+ hours straight, my feet do start to hurt, so they may not be the best for someone who works an 8+ hour shift at a job, or something like that.
They are holding up well so far. They are a bit different than the old wave trek I had. The look is similar. The back ankle height of the sneakers are pretty low. They are stiff but comfortable after you’ve worn them for at least 5 minutes, you forget you are wearing them. They are nice and lightweight and not bulky at all. I have not had a chance to test the waterproof-ness of them yet.
