Converse M9697 M9697 Navy Fabric 2018. Converse is Sneakers. And Converse is Change. We started on the court and got adopted on the street. We began as a rubber company to make sneakers and boots, and then we found basketball and reinvented the sport. The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star sneaker became the court sneaker; it stood for the game. From there we moved into other sports with new sneaker silhouettes like the Pro Leather, the Star Player, and the Weapon. The Star Chevron showed up and became another Converse symbol. And just when we seemed to be destined for athletes only – something happened.

I've been shopping around for a good pair of Converse for a while, thinking that I could find them for under $20.00 if I looked hard enough. My last pair, which I bought three years ago, was $20, and I thought surely I could find more for less than the $35-45 price tag I was seeing. Stupid inflation.I finally bought these when I realized if I was going to get a new pair, I had to cough up the extra dough. I'm really glad I did. I wore the last pair all the time, and though they're still comfortable and I'm far too attached to them to throw them away, they have holes in the leather and in the sole, and they smell something foul when it rains. I have no doubt that these canvas Converse Chuck's will last just as long and be just as comfortable, and my first few wears makes me confident that I'm right. My last pair was leather, but the same shoe style, so I don't know if the fabric of these will stretch. I do know that the leather ones never did, it only got a little less structured after three years of wear. What I like:1. These are meant to wear as regular sneakers, so while you don't want to go on a run with them, they are just as comfortable if you're going on a long walk. There's no chafing on the heel no matter how far I go, and the support means they're not going to destroy your lower back if you find yourself walking or standing all day.2. For me, at least, they fit true to size. I have wide feet, but the design of the shoe means I can lace them tighter or looser and not worry about them cutting into my circulation or falling off.3. I got the navy blue ones, and the color is exactly what you see in the product picture. It's vibrant, but not bright, and well-dyed and even-toned.As for dislikes, well...there's nothing I dislike about Converse, so you're asking the wrong person if you're looking for complaints. All Converse I've ever owned are comfortable and simple, and I think it's what the brand does best.
I find that, for fashion, one must typically sacrifice comfort, practicality, and durability. That is not the case with these shoes. They look great and feel great, too.Canvas shoes have flat bottoms and thus have no arch support. I have high arches, so usually flat soles translates into awkward stepping and discomfort. Not so with these shoes. I attribute this to how snugly they fit; when they're all laced up a large percentage of the surface area of the shoe is in direct contact with my foot. This means a large percentage of the mass of the shoe moves along with my foot, as opposed to being pulled along by the foot with each step. In a practical sense, this creates a "barefoot" effect, and indeed it feels like I'm not wearing any shoes at all.Additionally, they're well-aerated so my feet stay cool and don't sweat. The heel is high enough that the backs stay securely in place. They're light and very flexible. The fit was perfect; exactly as expected. Finally, they feel very solid, durable, and well-made. Not a shred of buyer's remorse for this impulse buy.
My favorite shoes, they ate very comfortable
This pair is just a smidge bigger than other converse I own, but it’s not a bad thing. I just lace them a little more. The color was exactly what I wanted.
Converse sneakers have been a part of my wardrobe for 30 years!! With age comes aches and pains, so I switched over to this style, which provides more support and a springy-ness. On feet all day at very active job and doing better than with traditional Converse. Plus, they’re super cute. Minus one star because this brand of sneakers has become pricey for what they simply are.
Wore during amusement park visits several days and no issues - actually more comfortable than the running shoes I anticipated wearing all week. I did have sizing issues having to return size 7 and 6 at other stores and eventually landing on the right fit 6.5 on Amazon, despite pricing being higher… worth it for the comfort!
They are so comfortable! I did go down a 1/2 size.
If you haven't worn these shoes before well, they haven't changed since I was a kid! They do not provide any arch support so if you need that these are not for you. They are simply...flat. That said, they are awesome! Comfy classics...true to size. I normally wear 7.5 - 8 in woman's size depending on where shoes are made. In this shoe I wear 8.
