ECCO, a Danish footwear brand founded in 1963 by Karl Toosbuy, began with a simple yet revolutionary idea: creating comfortable shoes that mimicked the barefoot walking experience. Toosbuy believed that shoes shouldn't restrict the natural movement of the foot, and ECCO's commitment to ergonomic design has been at the heart of the brand ever since.
ECCO prioritizes both comfort and style. They utilize innovative technologies and premium materials to create shoes that are anatomically shaped, lightweight, and flexible. ECCO also boasts a keen eye for design, offering a range of styles that are both functional and fashion-forward.
Good value for money and very comfortable.
I normally wear an 8.5 in sneakers and ordered this shoe in 8-8.5(EU 39). It was a bit roomier than expected, even with thicker socks, but I appreciate the extra space. The insole seemed a little stiff the first time I wore the shoes, but with consecutive wears, they became more and more comfortable. These shoes make larger feet look smaller.
These shoes are amazing ! I had a severe leg injury and suffer from sciatica and chronic pain. I frequently order multiple pairs of shoes, and often give up due to lack of finding shoes that I can walk in comfortably. I also work in a hospital as health care provider so I am on my feet for long periods. These shoes are amazing for the price. I have had multiple eccos and the fit, style and comfort is superb in these. I will be buying more in various colors.
I've worn Ecco shoes for golf for a long time. I thought these would fit similarly. They don't because there is very little support in these shoes. The outer looks like fabric because there is a woven texture, but I'm not sure it is. It appears it would be a little water-repellant, but I haven't tested this out. The grey is attractive. I ordered size 40 or 9. It seems to run true to size.
I have terrible feet. It’s very hard for me to find a cute casual sneaker that I can wear all day. I still prefer to put a padded insole for more cushion, but it’s comfortable and cute enough to wear at work instead of dress flats.
I got these shoes to walk all over Spain in for the next 6 weeks. I was originally going to go with Vionics but couldn't get a shoes I liked in the time I needed it. I found these instead, it was important to me that I get a walking shoe brand for these.I have worn them around my house all day doing various last minute cleaning, packing and remote work. I will be honest, the comfort is less than I expected and it actually makes me really sad. I don't have to time to find something else so I put inserts in these and I'm hoping for the best for the next 6 weeks. Someone did make a comment that they squeak when you walk, on hardwood for example, and this is VERY true! I didn't think it would be so bad but they are LOUD. I'm hoping as I break them in it will go away and I'm hoping it won't be a noticeable problem while I'm abroad.I will say, for the price I'm feeling disappointed. I will write how things go in Spain when I return.6 weeks later I will say that I stand by my "okay comfort" judgement. I walked all over Spain in these and had to switch them for my Chacos a few days because it made the ball of my foot so soar. I would say I liked them for the fashion aspect and since I own them I will wear them for short walking occasions and until I can't but I wouldn't buy them again.
After many iterations of this show over the years, it is still very well-made. Inserts are removable, a feature I need. I walked two miles on second wearing with no issues. I wear with supplied inserts for tai chi practice, more in touch with ground or floor. NOTE: Warm Gray Nubuck IS leather/suede unlike the other gray color which is fabric.
I'll join the chorus in affirming that these shoes are not leather -- at least, the black ones I ordered are not. Shame on Ecco for misrepresenting the fabric makeup of the uppers. That said, I like the fact that the insoles are removable (I wear orthotics) and always appreciate a good oxford tie fit. I am debating about whether or not to keep them. They are comfortable around the house but since they are polypropalene (or something plastic) they will not "breathe" and I am not sure they will feel as nice after a long walk. Again, I'm so disappointed in Ecco... used to be a reliable company and my go-to for quality shoes. It seems they have caved to economics: lower prices, inferior product. I welcome their response to this review!UPDATE: I did return the shoes, alas, when my feet felt damp after a mere stroll around the house.
