The Frye Company For more than 153 years, Frye craftsmen have been dedicated to the art of shoemaking, creating modern patterns, discovering materials and even inventing machinery. Rooted in authentic American heritage, The Frye Company uses the best leathers, designs and innovations in the pursuit of timeless, artisanal style. Frye boots were worn by soldiers on both sides of America's Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-American war, and by Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. When homesteading drew adventurous New England families to the West during the mid and late 1800's many of the pioneers wore Frye Boots for the long journey. Today Frye remains true to its roots with its line of heritage boots, but continues to innovate as it introduces chic new handbags, pumps, and sandals to its collection. Frye’s mission, to make iconic leather goods that endure, has remained unchanged throughout its storied history. These are the exact opposite of my Frye boots. Soft leather, and lightweight. I have very narrow feet, so these are a tiny bit wide, but with my plantar fasciitis insole, they are perfect. Size is accurate, comfortable fit, color will go with everything, I know I’m going to enjoy wearing these.
I read a lot of reviews saying that these ran super small, so I ordered half a size up. Then I ended up exchanging them for my true size because they were too large. I think it must depend on the width of your foot, and specifically your forefoot, because they do narrow quite a bit at the toe. But I have a narrow foot anyway, and have a little extra room in my regular size. I ordered the dark taupe color and it's very pretty, not quite as warm a tone as the one pictured. The leather is soft, and the sole is comfortable right from the start. I'm very happy with my purchase!
The shoe leather is very soft and comfortable. The gray color is a taupe/gray which is very attractive. One of the reviews said the toe was too narrow so I was concerned when I ordered it that it wouldn't be comfortable. However, I have long toes and the shoe fits just fine.
I wear a 9.5 and it fits perfect with enough room for sock liners. I’ve worn them during my travels abroad and they held up really well, especially on cobblestone streets. These are great slip-on shoes to take my dog for a quick walk around the block and then go directly to work. The tan color was my first purchase and afterwards I got a pair of baby blue. The only complaint about the light blue color shoes is that it stains easily.I would love to purchase different colors of these shoes but they are rather pricey. Otherwise these are great shoes with supple leather. Highly recommend for anyone how wants a casual look without having to resort to tennis shoes.
This is a great quality leather slip on sneaker. I own two pairs. One in grey and the other in cognac. I like both a lot. I will note that the grey is more of a taupe color with a lot of brown. Wish it were more grey, but I still decided to keep, because these look so nice, and are great quality. I am giving them 4 out of 5 stars, because when I take these off the liner comes out. That is annoying. Also, the toe is pretty pointed. That does give a bit less of a casual look and makes them slightly less comfortable.. Quality and look are very sharp though, so I would still recommend.
I was really hopeful these would be the ones...buy them in multiple colors if they are comfortable, cute, made well. Meh....for me, they aren't great. The band across the top of my foot gaps on the side, they don't have much cushion or support. They do appear to be made well and the color is amazing! I wear solid 10, with a slightly wider foot/toe box. I like comfort but they just missed. Someone with an easier foot to fit (you know who you are...lucky) would probably enjoy them.
I loved the shoe, but it was too wide for my foot.
The shoes are very comfortable and look good. I could walk in these shoes all day. But they DO NOT LAST. I have purchased several pair of these shoes and in 6 months or less you could see the wear and tear. Rubber soles coming unattached from the upper Too expensive to have to purchase a new pair every 6 months
