I've been a Keen wearer (Voyageur and Newports) for the past 15+ years. This shoe is cute and made very well. Toe box is roomy and fits well. However, the tongue is sewn to the main part of the shoe (you can't tell this by the pictures) and that seam rubs on top of my big toe joint which will cause a blister. I've loosened the laces a bit so that seam doesn't rub as much and wear the shoe with "no show" socks. Will have to have some break-in time to make sure these are comfortable enough to wear outside of the house. I also have a couple of pairs of Elsa Lite. The tongue on the Elsa Lite is not sewn in like these. So if you have a bunion, you might want to go with the Elsa Lite. Good shoe, except for that darn seam!
I got these shoes for an upcoming vacation. I was expecting more of a typical Keen fit — I've never had to break in Keens and have hiked 10 miles in them straight out of the box. These are not typical Keens. They're more narrow and there's very VERY minimal arch support. A lot of people say the left shoe has a part that pokes the top of their foot. I believe this is because there's a ton of material right at the spot where a bunion would be. If you have bunions, this will feel super tight across that part. I removed the insoles and put in the insoles from my hiking Keens. So much better. Once I did that, the shoes are so much more comfortable. Still not sure I'll be taking them on vacation because these seem to need breaking in.
I really wanted to keep these pretty Keen shoes, but they are too tight across the ball of my foot. The stitched sections there, are much tighter than the Elsa III (3) shoe. I even tried going a half size up, and still just too tight there. Everything else about them is great. I wear a 9.5or 10 in the Elsa III and the width is fine.
I am glad I got these shoes! I almost didn't because of some of the reviews I read. But I do have narrow feet and like thicker socks in the winter and I can wear a 71/2 but I always get 8s for this reason. When I put them on they are so soft and have plenty of cushion! I love these shoes! Glad I went ahead and tool a chance on them!
When I bought them I didn’t look too closely and thought they were like a Buffalo Plaid. Instead they are almost an ombré. They are really cute and comfy with a decent arch, cushy footbed. I have a somewhat wide foot so ordered a half size up as there were no wide widths. I typically wear an 8 in Keens but the 8 1/2 was the right choice for this shoe. A touch of extra room in the toe which heavy socks will take care of in cold weather!
I am absolutely in love these shoes. I’ve been wearing this brand and style for 2 years now, got my first pair when I was pregnant with my son and I worked all the way through the entire pregnancy driving a standup forklift for 12 hr days/only 3 days a wk though. I got a second pair and now this is the third and I still have all of them, they hold up extremely well, I work 50 hrs some weeks and omg my feet love them and they’re super cute. The insole does break down after a while so I’m trying to find replacement insoles for the two older pairs cause I like having variety of colors for style and I like alternating them to allow the soles to decompress, seems to help and they have lasted quite a while. I used to wear converse but the toe boxes were too small and I have narrow feet, these are similar in style but better, not such a big/wide toe protection piece and the insole that comes in these are super thick and comfy. I highly recommend!UpDATE for THIS REVIEW: These ended up being nothing like my previous pairs of keen shoes & I went back to wearing the older pairs & just put new insoles in them because the insole in these is thinner & the outer sole is too big. It was making me stumble, like I was wearing high heels, which I would never because I love my feet!! Honestly this is the 2nd pair of keen shoes I’ve tried to replace the original Keen Elsa shoes with. I took the insoles out of both newer pairs and threw the shoes away.
There's no arguing with the fact that the converse-style tennis shoe is a classic, but it leaves a lot to be desired in terms of arch support! For about $10 more, I got the dependable fit & comfort of Keen, with the included dork factor! I always order 2 adjacent sizes, just to be sure of long-term comfort, and added new white 45" laces to complete the look. Very happy!UPDATE: I found that the tongue kind of drifts off to one side, so I relaced the shoe strings THROUGH the Keen label in the 2nd photo. Voila - problem solved!
This is a really cute shoe. I had read a review that this shoe runs short. It does not. I didn’t need to order half size up. What was great though was that 10 1/2 was available. So I could have gotten my regular size 10. An 11 would have been too big. This shoe does run narrow which is perfect for me.
