I bought these because I was looking for a pair of quality leather shoes. My grandmother used to wear this exact style. She traveled around the world in these shoes so I figured if they worked for her I would give them a try. I couldn't beat the price. I took a chance and ordered the only size available which is a half size larger than what I normally wear in other shoes. It fits. It feels narrow but I figure since its all leather that it will loosen up and mold to my feet. I haven't worn them out yet, only around the house but they feel ok. I don't think I would be willing to pay the 100+ dollars that they normally retail for but for an amazon warehouse price I am happy.Plus side of these shoes, they are all leather including the interior. They are lightweight and do not look clunky.Fit- they run long and narrow. Consider ordering half size upUPDATENow I know why they fit narrow. They fit narrow, because they are narrow width. I will probably keep them, but they are very tight. I am normally a medium with but because these are full leather they should stretch my feet. They are dance shoe tight. I haven't worn them or walked around in them so I don't know if they will give rub spots. MY ADVICE when you receive your shoes check the width.
I got these SAS shoes in 1989 to work at a 3-week conference where I’d be doing a lot of walking. While I didn’t wear them a whole lot after that, they have held up beautifully. Polish works wonders for leather. Fast forward to this month in 2023 when I tried them on again. My feet have spread a bit and they were a bit snug. I was able to find the exact same shoe half a size larger on Amazon. Same good leather, same top stitching, same sole and 100% same styling.They now will come with me on a trip to Provence, where there will be a lot of walking on uneven cobblestones and many stairs. I am very grateful such excellent shoes are again in service. I give a 10 - star recommendation!
The shoe fits but the heel is too wide. For a SS shoe the heel is too wide and falls off my feet. I have to return them. I have worn SAS shoes for over 30 years, but now they do not fit like they used to. I have tried so many of their styles, but none of them fit right. It could just be my foot or they may be making them different.
