I wrote the following the FIRST day of wear which I am RECANTING a week later: sneakers are stylish and that is the only good thing I can say. I read reviews: “size up, size down”. Didn’t know which was true…bought regular shoe size that I am. Well they are big and here I am getting on a plane wearing them and REGRETTING that decision. In addition, the sneakers have been rated “super comfortable”, “Princess Kate wears them”. She must be bananas because THEY ARE NOT. They are SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE. Will never buy another pair. Call me “honest to a fault”.2nd day crazily the sneakers had molded to shape of my feet. No longer big and became very comfortable. I’ve been wearing every day “busing & training” all over London. Leaving for a week in Portugal continuing to wear them. Crazily these have become my “go to” sneakers. DEF RECOMMEND THEM to the point I shall purchase another pair in a different color. Again, HONEST TO A FAULT.
I've owned 4 pairs of white Supergas over the years. I got these because I love the gold grommets for the laces--they typically come in silver. They're shoes I wear daily to work, over the weekends, and I wear them when I travel. They don't take too long to break in, and once they are broken in, they're super comfortable. They're very easy to slip on and off and go well with lots of different outfits. I wouldn't recommend them for someone looking for shoes with a lot of arch support or if someone is looking for a work out sneaker, but they're great for daily wear.
Superga's have such a classic appearance, but they aren't ideal for a narrow female foot. I find the length about half a size too long, which is not big deal. The problem I have is that the footbed is definitely wider than comparable casual shoes, such as Vans or Chuck Taylor Allstars. The thick sole feels like a heavy chunk of rubber which pulls away from my foot as I walk, and even with tight lacing, there is a bit of extra slack around the ankle. Again, I have a narrow foot and I realize these attributes are due to my foot shape and not necessarily the shoe's "fault," but I think they're important to mention nonetheless. If you're the opposite of me and find that Chuck Taylors are a bit narrow, this might be a more comfortable option for you. This shoe would fit a medium-to-wide foot much more appropriately than a narrow foot. This might be because the shoes are unisex and thus not ideal for a slimmer female foot. I'm giving the shoe 4 stars primarily for appearance, but taking off a star because I think the shoe is only suited for certain people.
MINUS ONE STAR: These sneakers are NOT made in Italy as stated when purchased. The tag inside says MADE IN VIETNAM.MINUS ANOTER STAR: I'm active and prefer exploring, hiking, etc. in sneakers rather than boots for over three decades. These sneakers gave me blisters on an easy two mile hike and had me wishing for my old pair of LL Bean's.These Superga 2750s are great, however, for short shopping trips or going out with friends and look cool with jeans. The sole is non-marking and has a pebble finish so I've never slipped in them. As for sizing, they're a little narrow in the toe box. They are well made, nicely cushioned/ supported inside and will last a while, but I'm glad I kept my beat up and torn canvas Bean's for the trails!
I hope the rubber smell will dissipate with time, otherwise like them. I have narrow feet, and I love the fact that the laces don't seem as long as they are on my other sneakers - no dragging, flappy way-too-long laces for once! The sneakers aren't narrow, but fit my narrow feet better than most other sneakers - perhaps a European width is slightly narrower than an American one. Works for me.
Left shoe was larger than right, and the soles are very hard and stiff. The vendor takes out shipping and “handling” out for returns. The box was all beat up when I received them. So that was a big loss for me!
I have several pairs of Superga sneakers and just love them. They have a more feminine, flattering look on the foot than the typical lace up sneaker. The construction is very good on these and the color choices are great. This time I chose the color Military which is a deep olive with a slight grey undertone. Very cool. I also love the Navy and the White. True, there isn't any arch support to speak of but there is plenty of cushioning due to the depth of the sole. As many reviewers have mentioned, most people must down size by a half size. When ordering my first pair in the past I didn't listen that that advice and ended up having to send them back. So trust me, go down one half size or your feet will be swimming in them. I'm an 8 so a 38 (which is 7 1/2 U.S.) fits me very well.
I purchased the white ones with the “gold” lace holes as everything else sold out in my size. An unusual looking sneaker. Very classy looking. Can be worn with a suit on workday “dress downs.” So glad I purchased them. Very supportive sole and great for walking and or gym days. A bit on the wide side; easily fixed with a sock.
