About Lifestyle Shoes

Level Up Your Look: The Essential Guide to Lifestyle Shoes

Shoes are more than just footwear; they're an extension of your personal style. The right pair of shoes can elevate your outfit and boost your confidence. But with so many different types of shoes on the market, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. Enter lifestyle shoes: the versatile and stylish option that can take you from day to night, errands to adventures.

What Are Lifestyle Shoes?

Lifestyle shoes are a broad category that encompasses shoes designed for everyday wear, comfort, and style. They bridge the gap between athletic shoes and dress shoes, offering a comfortable fit and a more casual aesthetic. Lifestyle shoes come in a wide variety of styles, materials, and colors, making them perfect for expressing your unique personality.

Popular Types of Lifestyle Shoes

The world of lifestyle shoes is vast, but here are a few of the most popular types:

  • Sneakers: Sneakers are a classic choice for casual wear. They come in a variety of styles, from low-top canvas sneakers to chunky platform sneakers. Popular lifestyle sneaker brands include Nike, Adidas, New Balance, and Converse.
  • Loafers: Loafers are a timeless and sophisticated option for men and women. They offer a polished look that can be dressed up or down. Popular loafer styles include penny loafers, driving loafers, and tassel loafers.
  • Boots: Boots are a versatile option that can be worn year-round. They come in a variety of heights, materials, and styles, from ankle boots to knee-high boots. Popular lifestyle boot styles include Chelsea boots, chukka boots, and combat boots.
  • Boat Shoes: Boat shoes are a classic summer staple. They're typically made of canvas or leather and have a rubber sole for added traction on boats (or, you know, the sidewalk).

Choosing the Right Lifestyle Shoes for You

When selecting lifestyle shoes, consider your personal style, lifestyle, and needs. Here are a few tips to help you choose the perfect pair:

  • Think about your daily activities. Do you need shoes that are comfortable for walking long distances? Or do you prioritize style over comfort?
  • Consider the climate. For warmer weather, you might opt for breathable sandals or canvas shoes. For colder weather, boots or sneakers with good traction might be a better choice.
  • Don't forget about comfort! Lifestyle shoes should be comfortable enough to wear all day long.

Level Up Your Look with Lifestyle Shoes

Lifestyle shoes are a great way to add style and personality to your everyday wardrobe. With so many different styles to choose from, you're sure to find a pair that reflects your unique taste. So ditch the boring shoes and step up your style with a pair of lifestyle shoes that will take you wherever you need to go.

Part of my solution for Plantar Fasciitis!

I've been dealing with Plantar Fasciitis for almost a year, and I've gotten various advice from doctors, forums, and best of all, a shoe salesman. I didn't develop PF by being an active runner. I didn't develop it from plyometrics, or any dynamic and explosive exercise. I developed PF by being too heavy and trying to get to a 10,000 step goal :( This makes it no fun to try and continue that increased activity. The first steps are a real killer in the morning and long days of standing and walking leave me limping.I'm almost over the Plantar Fasciitis now, thanks in no small part to these shoes. I was frustrated that advice from the doctor wasn't helping, and the solutions that runners used and discussed only left me in more pain--all that advise was geared toward preventing PF and helping the athletic recover from a sports injury. The advice I got from a local shoe salesman has really saved me though.First for me. NEVER WALK BAREFOOT, especially early in the morning. I keep a pair of Nike sandals (which are surprisingly supportive) close to the bed and step into them first thing in the morning.Second for me. Get a really GOOD pair of walking shoes for my days off. I opted for these walking shoes. What a difference from the Skechers I'd been wearing. Thanks, Amazon! The local shoe salesman basically explained that I absolutely did NOT want a shoe with a flexible sole. This was the opposite of what an athletic sufferer may want to do. Having the flexible sole forces your foot to get stronger and stretch out the injured section of Plantar Fascia. For me, being the very non-athletic sufferer, it was causing me to constantly re-injure the foot. What shoes work for you may be completely different than what work for me, but I feel I found a good shoe. More belowFinally for me. I purchased a set of the Superfeet BLUE Premium Insoles for my work shoes. They add the same kind of support to my work dress shoes that I was finally getting from my sandals and walking shoes. I spend approximately five hours of my day standing and walking, logging 6-8k steps on average. I can finally get through each day (for a few weeks now) with nothing more than normal fatigue. I feel like if always used these insoles and followed the no-barefoot advice I would have been free from PF a long time ago.As anyone who has Plantar Fasciitis knows, it can be a real activity killer. But the combination of the above practices has really allowed some healing over the last several weeks. In fact, I have recently taken up golf and have decided that when I have time or am only playing 9 holes I will walk a course. I am wretched at golf, but it's absolutely awesome that I've gotten through about 100 holes of golf without any PF pain!I will be ordering more shoes from VIONIC and will have great things to say. The one thing I will mention, though, is that they do run small. I wear a men's 13D. If I had to order shoes outside my size I could get away with a size 12.5--my feet aren't long enough to have any issues with an undersized 13, but those of you who find your toes crammed into your shoes I can't help you. If in doubt, order these shoes a half-size too small. You will be receiving a great shoe! What I needed out of a day-off shoe was support, and these shoes have been great. In reference to the golf, my first few rounds I wore these shoes instead of golf shoes. They provided good enough traction that I could play during the tail-end of a wet winter, but more importantly I found I can finally walk a couple miles without massive Plantar Fascia pain!I haven't had to break these shoes in, and I have no blisters or hotspots. Very, very happy with my purchase...I will also be posting an edited version of this review for the insoles I purchased, but I really want to recommend these shoes!

To squishy in the heal

The right side rear of the right shoe collapses when walking and it makes the ankle bend inward. Started doing this the first day

Very Surprised

I was skeptical about these shoes, but I bought a pair of Orthaheel Traverse Slide Sandals two weeks ago to wear around the house and they seemed to relieve some of the extreme pain I've been experiencing from plantar fasciitis (both feet!). After reading the reviews about these walkers I decided to give them a try. I wore them all day and it's been the first in the past two months that my feet weren't sore in months. To be clear, these shoes didn't relieve all of the pain, but the relief I recieved after wearing them for only one day shows great promise. I highly recommend these shoes for their intended purposed, but I wouldn't recommend them for serious running. As other have noted, these shoes do run small. I typically wear a size 11 in every pair of shoes I've ever tried on. I took the advice from some of the other reviewers and order a half size larger and they fit perfect. There are two other products that I can highly recommend that have been helpful as well. First, the North American Healthcare Foot Rocker (1 for home and one for the office) and second, buy the Powerstep ProTech Full Length insoles to replace the insoles in the shoes you wear most often. Just pull out the original insoles and slide the Powersteps in. The difference in comfort can be felt immediately. Powersteps are nothing like the squishy Dr. Scholes inserts, the arch on the powersteps are very comfortable, but they remain firm which helps maintain proper arch support and expedites the healing of plantar fasciitis. Unfortunately, I bought 4 pairs from my foot doctor during an office visit before finding out that I could have bought them for $10 less per pair on Amazon...live and learn.I only gave these walker 4 stars because I've only worn the one day and I don't know how well they will hold up over time. The quality and construction seems okay, but time will tell. For those suffering from plantar fasciitis, hang it there, it totally suck, but it does get better if you stretch and wear the right shoes and/or insoles. Cheers!

Great shoe for support without sacrificing comfort

I just recently had surgery to repair my torn quadriceps. I needed a shoe that would provide more support without sacrificing comfort - not just a standard tennis shoe - for daily walks and physical therapy. If you’re in the same situation I highly recommend these. The only other shoe that I found better than these were Hokas.
