I was skeptical when it came to these type of shoes. I have size 15 feet...yeah, aircraft carrier sized ones! So, Asian styles were a no-go, as their sizes are much smaller. Well, I went out on a limb and got these. At first, they were a bit tight, as they come in narrow sizes, but after a day with a pair of shoe trees, they're nice and comfy to wear now. All I did was soak them in warm water, slipped in the shoe trees, and let the magic happen. It's a great deal, but remember, these only come in narrow sizes, not wide or anything like that.
They shipped really fast, but were too big for me, ordered a mans size 8 as said that would be a women's size 7, which I wear, but were too big. I gave them to another woman in my Tai Chi class and they fit her perfectly and she loves them. They are inexpensive and well made, perfect for class. I may order custom made ones for me to be sure of size. Really like them and want a smaller size next time.
I love these shoes and have since I was a teenager and started training in Martial Arts. I love going barefoot and at one point I went barefoot everywhere except when prohibited. Nowadays though, it's a little harder and more dangerous to do that kind of thing, so I wear these shoes. These are the next best thing to going without shoes at all. If you get the right size they fit nice and snug, they breathe very well and weigh almost nothing. You will hardly notice they are on, you will just about feel barefoot even when wearing these shoes. Aside from feeling good, these shoes are inexpensive and they last a good while, especially for the price. I recommend you try them out if they look at all appealing to you. Everyone I know that have tried these, you now just about can't get them out of them!
I wanted to return it, as the shoes had toxic fumes., but return postage was about one dollar ($1.00) different than the price I paid. I know, cosmic humor. UPS employee, nice person, agreed that the shoes smelled foul, suggesting I re-purpose them by placing them in a shoe donation box. I responded by saying, in essence, "Ok, so give cancer to someone else?" in righteous sarcasm.I called local toxic disposal place that deals with paints and such. Their response was to put them in a bag and throw them away. No solution seemed good. They are still on the planet. I would have given negative stars, but this template does not give that option. Obviously I do not recommend buying them. If wanting to do tai chi on hard floors, I would recommend buying a pair of Vans.
I normally wear a size 12-13 depending on the shoe. I ordered size 47 (US size 14), thinking I'd rather have them a little big than too small. My feet fit into them but the fit was very uncomfortably snug. Since they are so inexpensive I went ahead and ordered their largest size listed, size 48 (US size 15). Unfortunately, when I held up the 48 to the 47 they matched exactly and when I put them on they fit exactly the same (too small). So, I'd warn people that these run at least 2-4 sizes small (at least with the sizes I ordered). Your mileage may vary.
I use to wear these shoes years ago. They are very comfortable keep the feet warm. They are very good for walking around the house just a short walk to the store and if your in a rush to go to the mall just slip them on and be gone. I would recommend these. I believe the best way to wash as I do is in the washer with clothes and let them drip dry.
The shoes are great, they fit fine and are comfy for the most part. The only problem I have with them is they are a little flat. The manufacturer could use more cotton in the bottom of the shoes for more cushioning, I might get some gel inserts for them. However, they are nice shoes and I like them.
I wear a size 10 so I order a size 10½ and after 3 weeks I receive them and they are too small. I can not get my foot in the shoe. I felt like Gulliver in Lilliput. I had no choice but to return them. They were exactly what I wanted just they were too small. The soles were of hard rubber and not cloth like a pair of slippers from some place else I ordered. I am sure they would have been comfortable. I had many a pair growing up in the 60's.That's my take on the Chinese Shoes.MarkMontedoro
