l started having foot pain a couple years ago and as I stand for most of my work day started to investigate "nursing" shoes. I discovered two brands of clogs that work for me (I'm a 41 in Sanita and a 9 in a Klog) but wanted some non clogs too. This brand had a lot of options and good reviews. I went to a DSW store just to try on a pair of Alegrias and found the 39 a little too small so knew the "classic size" 40 (DSW had only one style and didn't have anything over a 39) was probably my size - I usually fit a 9 1/2. Basically, size up just a bit and if this is your first pair I would make sure the vendor offers free returns just in case. I now have several different styles of Alegria shoes. My favorites are the Seville and the Paloma. The Belle is now also on that list! They are all size 40s so once you find your size I've found the sizing to be consistent. These were comfortable from the moment I put them on. I wore them to work today paired with white capri leggings and a swing dress. This color, grid silver, will go with most of my clothes - black, white, and most solid colors. Bottom line: Nice looking, comfortable Mary Jane shoe that can work with pants/leggings or skirts/dresses. These ones have the smaller rocker bottom so they look less clunky than the Paloma. I hope to add another pair or two to my collection in time!
Really like these shoes, however wish they came in narrow width. Fit is ok, but I max out the adjustable velcro strap due to narrow feet. Wish amazon would list the european size, I initially ordered size 9 (my usual size) and when I got them the box said size 39. I usually get a size 40 in european sizes. Had to return and order the size 10 because they were too short.Very comfortable shoes, and they are cute even on my big feet! Work in hospital so am on my feet all day. These work great for that.
I think if I would have tried these on in a brick-and-mortar store I wouldn't have purchased them at this price (though maybe I would have from a rock bottom sale rack). I am not returning the shoes simply because I would lose the shipping costs both ways and so I'd basically be already $20-in whether or not I keep the shoes and I only spent $80-90 on them. The shoes are relatively comfy but a little flat and wide so doesn't have as much arch support as I would like. Otherwise, they are comfortable--they don't rub, they don't squeak, and they do have good safety grip--walked safely through an icy parking lot. My first pair of Alegria lasted for 4 years of standing all day long for 8-hour work days and held up well. In fact, those first ones still look good but I have worn the soles down to where they're no longer good from an orthopedic perspective. I once preferred Alegria to Dansko but my current pair of Dansko seems to give me a little more support than these do. Could just be the difference in the style I chose this time around. Still--I won't be turning my ankle in these and the velcro closure seems more secure than my Dansko's have. Not a bad shoe....just not in love with it...maybe just not the perfect fit for my feet.
These shoes are so comfortable, they are not heavy very light weight. I wear a size 8 and have a high arch. I can wear these all day even sleep in them they offer so much support. There are too many colors and prints to choose from. I have three pairs. I bought my first pair 6 years ago and they are still in excellent shape and I am very hard on my shoes. Someone said these are nurses shoes. They are not. They are durable you won’t slip and fall on wet slippery surfaces and they look fantastic I’m 45 I wear them my 15 year old likes them too there are styles for everyone.
I purchased these shoes after trying them on at a store locally and then waiting to find them on sale. I am a middle school teacher and walking on the tile floors all day was causing back, leg and foot pain unless I wore my Danskos all day.I found a great deal here on Amazon and decided to give them a try. I am SO glad that I bought these shoes. I purchased the Alegria Women's Belle Grid Silver. They were comfortable right out of the box. I read the reviews about ordering up a size. I normally wear a 9 in shoes but I ordered the 40 in this shoe. I also wear a 40 in the Danskos. I have plenty of toe room since the toe box is boxy. The arch hit in the right place and the top of the shoe in the heel area is padded. They arrived on a Friday and I wore them all day Saturday and the following Monday to the Georgia Aquarium. My feet and back never hurt.I have two pairs of Dansko XP and the Alegria shoe was much better. I love this shoe so much that I ordered a solid black pair that I found on sale here on Amazon. I hope that the 2nd pair will be as great as this pair.
Darling shoes. I got them for x-mas so I missed the return date. I wear an 11. Average width (I don't have to buy wide). These were pretty narrow and definitely ran small! Also, there is, in my opinion, no room for them to stretch out. The leather is very firm. I think it would be miserable trying to stretch them out. Overall, very cute! Buy 1 Size up. Don't expect a quick stretch.
Very comfortable and look exactly like the photos.
The shoe fits well and is true to size (I wear a 38 or an 8 medium) and the shoe is a stunner in the blue (? "speckled") print. Love the construction around the edge that provides a "protection" against scuffs. (Very smart idea). Also of note, the arch support is very good. The one downside for me is that the sole is not rubber. Afraid I would slip in these so alas I must return them. Alegria Baby Janes are my favorite shoe! This would have been my fifth pair. My fault - I didn't check to see what material was used for the sole. My others all have rubber soles .
