There was no breaking in period. The straps are buttery soft and cushioned, no rubbing or pressure points. I walked a couple of miles the first wear and all they did was remind me why I love Alegria so much. The foot bed is a combination of cork and something very supportive yet bouncy. The soles have grooves that give the shoe amazing flexibility. The three adjustable straps give you a custom fit and wonderful stability! No sliding off the footbed in these.The style has a bit of a sporty vibe.I’m an 8 1/2 - 9 US women’s. These had no half sizes, but the 9 was a tad on the larger size. Sill fit well enough but have a lot of sole showing. That’s my only “complaint”. Wish they had half sizes. Don’t let that stop you from giving these a try. Maybe I should have ordered a size 8 and compared the two, but after a day of walking in town it was too late. You might want to do that if you’re in between sizes.
Normally wear a 5.5-6, but read that they run a little large, so I ordered the 5. Perfect fit. Adjustable straps make them customizable. Wore them for the first time on a trip, and several strangers commented on how cute they are. VERY comfortable. Love the white ones so much, I just ordered the black.
I’m hard to fit because I need an arch support, but these fit perfect, were comfortable the first day I put them on, and even wore them all day. Will definitely buy again.
Love the comfort and flexibility of this shoe. Didn’t like the tan color or waffle weave pattern. It’s weird. I got the white ones and those were much better. Wished they were a little less granny style with all the Velcro but they are good enough and look sort of cute. Really comfy. I love Alegria shoes for their comfort.
I have arthritis in my legs. I am a teacher, so I have to walk and stand a great deal. These shoes are great. I had to loosen the front strap just a little. I have wide feet. They were a little uncomfortable the first day. I loosened the strap and gave them one more chance the second day. So glad that I did. With that minor adjustment in the front, they fit as if they were made for me. Love them.
I used to love flip flops, but after hurting my foot, I need more support. These are so comfortable and supportive. I did not even have to break them in and I wear them all day (took them sightseeing on vacation the second time I wore them). They are cute dressed up or down and I get lots of compliments!
I love this sandal from Alegria. This is my usual " go-to" brand of shoes to support my arthritic feet. I have also had bunion surgery on one foot so I'm very careful when selecting shoes and I cannot go cheap.Some of the sandals I have from this brand are heavy but these are light weight and very supportive. I wore them around the house the first day for about 3 hours and I had no foot or ankle pain at all. I hardly payed attention to my feet at all! I'm very pleased with the purchase and I highly recommend these sandals!
