Read some negative Amazon reviews on these boots about QC, but this pair is great, they feel great and look great, just a couple loose thread ends that were easily clipped off. My first pair of Allen Edmonds Higgins mill. I’m a perfect 13 on a Brannock and right in between D and E width, my big toe is the longest toe on my foot. These are a 12D and are perfect. If they hold up well it’s a solid buy at $275. I’m a Iron ranger, Thorogood, Truman owner, these are a thinner leather for the dress style but right up there with the others. The wife thinks they look great! Made in the USA was the reason I tried them and I am pleased with the purchase. Tough to beat American made boots, that’s why overseas companies are trying to buy them up like they did with White’s. Buy USA made!
I did not expect much of these when I ordered them. I know Amazon can be fickle with this kind of thing so I kept that in mind. What I received appears to be authentic, as well as being fantastic for the price. The laces leave some to be desired but that is forgivable. These are my go to boots and I put them above my 1000 miles by a long shot. I say give it a shot if the price is right on your size.
The boots fit great and feel great, but the welting is just bad and on one boot appears to have been cut down into the mid sole but repaired. Also, a corner of one heel is missing on only one boot, almost appears to have been ground off. There was also a cut in the leather of one boot. If these were $200 I would probably keep them, but for this price they should have better quality.
This is the Higgins Miller 2648 Model Boot (discontinued). This model has black welting, whereas the new model has brown welting. These shoes look great, but on closer inspection, the welting material is plastic, and is easily scratch- revealing a ugly white plastic behind the faux wood veneer. On par with most $200 shoes, hardly worth the $200 premium.
Excellent quality. Excellent style. Excellent fit (I take a US in Red Wings and these are also an 11 and fit like a glove.)I CAN NOT fault ANYTHING!
